The Brace Space has been chosen top Orthodontist in the Halifax area by Consumer Choice Award - Choix du Consommateur for the 11th successive year!!
The Consumers' Choice Award, recognizes businesses across the country that are chosen as best in class.
We are both honored and excited to have been awarded this highly prestigious top Orthodontist designation by Consumer Choice for this, the 11 consecutive year! We do not take it lightly, but rather use it as an opportunity to try even harder to live up to the expectations that one would expect from having received such an award.
One of the reasons The Brace Space remains the favorite of patients in the region is that it’s rooted in the community. We are locally owned and operated and are avid supporters of the community in which we live.
Orthodontists, Dr. Dan Stuart, Dr. Sarah Davidson and their team of welcoming and knowledgeable professionals, work hard to keep everyone smiling! From the moment patients step into any of our four Orthodontic clinics, in Bedford, Dartmouth, Halifax or Sackville, they can expect to be well informed and treated with kindness and expertise.
Although historically it has been mainly children who were treated with braces, with newer technology and a greater understanding of the importance of longevity of teeth, as many adults are being treated now, as children.
With the introduction of 3D custom digitally printed LightForce braces or the new style of scanning that eliminates the use of goop for impressions, or using Invisalign there is no question that having Orthodontic work has become a really wonderful experience.
Many people have a level of anxiety and questions upon arriving at any new office, but we at The Brace Space work hard to keep everyone comfortable, informed, and excited in this journey they are about to take. And it’s working!
The Brace Space would like to thank Consumer Choice Award for this recognition. It helps reaffirm that we are doing the right things and it gives consumers the comfort in knowing that they have chosen well.

Meet Charlie, a fan favourite at the Bracespace, who has won our hearts with his charm. Charlie was in a terrible motorcycle accident six years ago this May, and his family was told there was no hope for his survival. Against all odds, he has persevered and surpassed, even the most ambitious of hopes for his recovery.
As a result of his accident, he was left with an underbite that was causing damage to his teeth every time he bit together. His mother brought him to see us two years ago. He was in a wheelchair and as he was going to be travelling a distance from a rehabilitation home, we thought that Invisalign would be the best option for him. With aligners we were able to reestablish his bite so that his top teeth overlapped his bottom teeth in the right way, giving him a comfortable and functional bite. But the biggest transformation was seeing Charlie recover from his accident and one of our favourite moments ever at our clinic was the day he WALKED into our office without his wheelchair!! We are so happy for Charlie and his new smile, and especially excited for him to showcase it at his sister’s wedding, where he will be standing, this fall.

Our Administrative Professionals are amazing and fun to be with! They know how to juggle, maybe not balls!!! but everything else: change of schedules for clinic or patients, storms, challenges, appointments, multiple phone calls, helping those who are anxious or sad, concerns, families, running the clinic smoothly, just to mention a few. And they do this all with understanding, kindness, professionalism and a smile on their faces. Thank you to our dream team!

AAO 2023 Annual Session in Chicago this year, is the most highly anticipated orthodontic event of the year — it represents the largest and most actively engaged community of orthodontists and orthodontic teams in the field. Attendance is expected to be around 16,000! And our 2 Orthodontists are there!!
