Best Flossing Tools (String, Picks, Water Flossers)

Flossing isn’t one-size-fits-all and the best tool is the one you’ll actually use consistently.

✔️ String floss: Great for precision and getting below the gumline
✔️ Floss picks: Convenient for on-the-go and easier handling
✔️ Water flossers: Ideal for braces, implants, or sensitive gums

No matter the method, daily flossing helps prevent cavities and gum disease like Gingivitis.

Not sure which is right for you? Ask us at your next visit!

Winter can be tough on your smile! 🧊

Cold air and temperature changes can make teeth more sensitive — especially if enamel is worn or gums are receding.

🪥 Use toothpaste for sensitive teeth
💧 Stay hydrated to prevent dry mouth
🧣 Cover your mouth in the cold air

Keep your smile protected all season long — your teeth will thank you!

What Plaque Does to Your Teeth (and Why You Shouldn’t Ignore It!)

Plaque is a soft, sticky film that constantly forms on your teeth — even just hours after brushing. It’s made up of bacteria, food particles, and saliva, and while it might not be visible at first, it can cause serious damage over time if not removed regularly.

When plaque isn’t brushed or flossed away, it hardens into tartar (calculus) — a tough, crusty buildup that can only be removed by a dental professional. As plaque and tartar accumulate, they release acids that attack your tooth enamel, leading to cavities, gum inflammation, and bad breath.

Left unchecked, this can progress into gum disease (gingivitis and periodontitis), which not only affects your oral health but can also impact your overall health — linking to heart disease, diabetes, and more.

Here’s how to keep plaque under control:
✅ Brush your teeth twice a day with fluoride toothpaste
✅ Floss daily to remove buildup between teeth
✅ Eat a balanced diet and limit sugary snacks
✅ Visit your dentist regularly for cleanings and checkups

A few simple habits can make all the difference in keeping your smile healthy, bright, and plaque-free!
