I've been super excited to show off this case and it's finally time! This case took an incredible team to make happen and I am thankful to be surrounded by talented individuals and incredible companies.

Medit was nice enough to send me the new i900 classic to beta test before its release at IDS this year. To go along with it, they sent me the ScanLadder system to test full arch intraoral scanning, which is one of the few missing pieces to continue our journey to a completely digital denture clinic.
The workflow is incredibly simple
1. Select smart x workflow in the scanning software, place scan bodies intraorally, scan and watch them auto align in seconds
2. Remove the scan bodies and scan the remaining soft tissue
3. Insert current all on x and scan it (this lovely patient's current denture was a temporary from conversion day that I've wanted to fix since surgery)
4. Scan opposing arch
5. Scan bite
The total scan time for this case was just over 6 minutes which is insane to me. An appointment that would normally take over an hour, cut down to 15-20 minutes.
I captured pictures and made notes for the changes I wanted. All that information was sent to and his team . The setup was beautiful and I appreciated the attention to proper occlusion.
Once approved, the case was milled on our PM7 using an ivotion dent multi disc. Then our talented technician got to work making the new temporary hybrid look stunning with beautiful composite work.
Finally it was time to deliver. The denture seated perfectly and I think the before and after pics speak for themselves. I am super excited about this new efficient workflow. Next step is to use this system on conversion day!

Reline or new denture impression? To me, it doesn't matter. They should be the same. My rule is the patient doesn't leave if the impression doesn't look like this or if the suction isn't amazing. This is a reline impression and was captured using virtual heavy body fast set and light body regular set. I shorten all denture extensions and relieve the entire intaglio surface before taking my reline impressions. It takes a few extra minutes, but the results speak for themselves. Also good to note, even though I feel it shouldn't need to be said, but make sure to capture these impressions in occlusion. Sadly I have seen many posts where the clinician did not do this and the denture might as well be thrown out in that case. No functional post dam needed on this one, but I'll post one showing that technique soon. Enjoy your weekend!

We're back! I have a goal to post more and there's no better day to get started than today. Is this going to last forever, probably not (let's be realistic here 😂), and don't judge me if I get lazy and stop posting. I really want to share more clinical work in the hopes it helps motivate others to push their skills and do the best possible work they can for their patients. There are lots of great accounts out there that post this stuff and I am by no means better than any other clinician, but I really do care about my patients and always want to do my absolute best for them and I hope that shows in our posts. I always love some constructive criticism as well so bring on any questions or comments you might have!

This case is super common here at True North Denture. This patient presented requiring new complete upper and lower dentures. Like always, the lower denture was severely under-extended and some major changes had to be made. Using the "fusion denture" technique that and I have been working on, I was able to capture a proper lower final impression using SEMCD protocols. The patient was quite impressed with the result and can't wait to try out his new teeth. He initially found us as he was searching for someone who could make a digital denture, but said it was the attention to detail in that impression appointment that really made him feel the hour drive each is worth it.

For all my border moulded final impressions I only use the best. has been my go to for years and the consistency of each material is perfect.

We are very fortunate to work with some amazing companies. You may see some new equipment the next time you are at the office. Thanks to and the .usa .can teams for working with to get us the new Medit i900! This scanner is significantly smaller and lighter than our previous scanner. It also scans faster and more accurately than before, leading to a more comfortable appointment as well as appliance. We are very excited to thoroughly test the i900 and are already in love with its new construction and features!

Additionally, they were honored to participate in Ivoclar's key opinion leader event, alongside esteemed figures such as their CEO, USA President, and Canadian Presidents. This experience served as a reminder of the profound impact our work in dentures can have on people's lives, allowing us to restore what was lost and contribute to their overall well-being.

Had an awesome visit to Halifax! 🌟

Got to catch up with our friends at Hallmark Dental Lab and had some great discussions about the important bond between denturists and dental labs. 💬 Sharing insights about how leveraging the expertise of a top-notch dental lab like Hallmark can lead to embracing cutting-edge digital protocols, just like the ones we use at True North Denture Center.
