🩸 Bleeding Gums Are NOT Normal
If your gums bleed when you brush or floss, it’s your body’s way of saying something isn’t right.
The most common cause? Plaque buildup along the gumline. When plaque sits too long, it irritates the gums and leads to gingivitis — the earliest stage of gum disease.
The good news?
✔️ Gingivitis is reversible
✔️ Bleeding usually improves with proper brushing & daily flossing
✔️ Professional cleanings make a big difference
What NOT to do:
🚫 Stop flossing because they bleed
(They often bleed because you’re not flossing consistently!)
If left untreated, bleeding gums can progress to periodontitis, which can lead to bone loss and tooth mobility.
If you’ve noticed bleeding, tenderness, or swelling — let’s take a look early. Prevention is always easier than treatment.
