🎬 Want to see the latest Hollywood-produced Filipino show on the big screen? Seats are limited.

When we heard the director talk about giving Filipinos the chance to be seen — to have our stories told, our faces on screen, our work recognized — it landed close to home.

That's the same reason our practice exists.
Every day we see kababayans who've spent years caring for everyone else. Nurses on their fourth double. Parents who put their kids first and themselves last. People who show up, quietly, and rarely get the room to turn and look back at them.

For most of our lives, we've watched Filipinos hold up hospitals, homes, and whole communities from the background of somebody else's story. Rarely the lead. Rarely the close-up. NURSE THE DEAD puts our people where they've always belonged — front and centre, on the big screen, in a Hollywood production.

And the night itself belongs to our nurses. The ones who came here with a suitcase and a licence and built a life out of overtime. The ones who carried Canadian healthcare through its hardest years and went right back in the next morning. On July 22, the room turns. 🌟

This showing is free — made possible by the sponsorship of SmileKo Dental and Blas Realty Group. No ticket cost, no catch. We wanted the people this night's honours to be able to walk in without thinking twice about it.

Red carpet, a Hollywood production on the big screen, our own people on it — and we're working on a few door prizes for the night as well. 🎁

But the theatre only holds so many. Once the seats are claimed, that's it — so please register now rather than deciding on the day. If you register and your plans change, release your spot so a nurse can take it. 🙏

We hope to see you there. Wear pink. 💗

Obviously… Mary did not actually climb the Calgary Tower.

(And no, we did not need to call the fire department to get her down.)

We’re having a little fun and playing off that recent Empire State Building stunt that made the news.

But the message behind the joke?

That part is serious.

Too often, we hear things like:

“My teeth look fine.”
“They’re not yellow, so I’m good.”
“I’ll book a cleaning when I want them whitened.”
And that’s where dentistry often gets misunderstood.

Somewhere along the way, regular checkups and cleanings became associated with cosmetic dentistry — as if they’re mainly about getting a whiter, brighter smile.
And sure… that can be a nice bonus.

But here’s what social media gets wrong about cleanings:

Dental cleanings are not cosmetic appointments.

They’re preventive healthcare.
A professional cleaning removes plaque and tartar buildup that even great brushing and flossing at home can miss.

And your exam helps us catch issues before they become painful, stressful, and expensive.
Things like:
🦷 Cavities before they become root canals
🦷 Gum disease before bone loss starts
🦷 Cracks before a tooth breaks
🦷 Inflammation before it turns into something bigger
Here’s the tricky part.

Many dental problems don’t hurt… until they really hurt.

That’s why waiting until something feels wrong is often one of the most expensive decisions you can make for your oral health.

The best dentistry is often the dentistry you never need—
because a small issue was caught early.

And there’s something even bigger to consider.
Your mouth isn’t separate from the rest of your body.

The health of your gums and oral tissues can affect far more than just your smile.
So when we say we care about your smile…
We don’t just mean the part that shows up in photos.
We mean your health.
Your comfort.
Your confidence.
Your future.
So yes—the image is a joke.
But the reminder isn’t.
Don’t wait until something hurts.
Don’t wait until a small issue becomes a big one.
And please… don’t make Mary climb another tower to get your attention.
📅 If it’s been a while since your last checkup or cleaning, we’d love to help.

Happy Canada Day! 🇨🇦❤️

Enjoy The Day with your family =)

We feel incredibly lucky to call Calgary home.

Canada is special because of its people—kind, welcoming, hardworking, and always ready to support one another.

The Canadian checklist:

☑ Be kind
☑ Help your neighbour
☑ Say sorry
☑ Say sorry again… just in case

(To be fair, we’ve mastered that last one.)

To our patients and community, thank you for trusting us with your smiles.

Proudly Canadian. Proudly Calgary.
Strong roots. Big hearts. Bright smiles.
