Did you know teeth aren't actually bones? 🦷

Teeth are very similar to bones; they are made of primarily calcium, have nerves, and blood vessels. But, because teeth do not produce marrow, they are not bones.

Your teeth are composed of four tissues—enamel, dentin and cementum, and pulp. Dentin is the bulk of your tooth, made from living cells and calcified tissue. When the outer enamel weakens, it shows the yellow tissue of your dentin.

This International Women's Day, we're celebrating the lead of our amazing team, Dr. Alina Drosu, General Dentist!

Dr. Drosu has been practicing dentistry for over 20 years. She graduated in 1995 from the University of Tg. Mures, Romania and completed a two-year residency at the University of Cluj, Napoca, Romania.

Having lived in Romania, Dr. Drosu speaks fluent Romanian. She also attended German School for nine years and speaks German as well.

In 1998, Dr. Drosu moved to Canada, opening her first dental practice in Fort McMurray in 2000. In 2005, Dr. Drosu moved to Calgary and has been practicing dentistry in South Calgary serving Midnapore and surrounding areas ever since.

Dr. Drosu loves helping others. She is passionate about helping her patients achieve optimum oral health while enhancing their smile at the same time.

In her free time, Dr. Drosu loves working out and dancing. She also believes that being active is extremely important for both your physical and mental health.
