Here's something most implant patients don't realize — cleaning the crown on top is not enough. 🤍
The part that actually determines whether your implant lasts is beneath the gumline, around the implant collar. That area needs dedicated attention — and it needs to come from your oral health provider, not just your toothbrush.
Make sure you're keeping up with your regular hygiene appointments and that your dentist or hygienist knows you have an implant. Ask them specifically to clean around it. Don't assume it's being done — advocate for your implant.
Most patients need a professional cleaning every 3–6 months to keep things healthy beneath the surface.

If they've fully erupted, are positioned correctly, easy to clean, and showing no signs of infection or bone loss? They may be just fine where they are.
