Tooth decay can start as soon as your baby’s first tooth comes in! That’s why we recommend doing a quick monthly “lift-the-lip” check for babies and toddlers. It’s an easy way to keep an eye on their smile and catch any early signs of decay.

How to check:
Sit your child comfortably and gently lift their top lip to look at their teeth and gums.

What to watch for:
White or chalky lines near the gums – early signs of decay
Brown or black spots – signs of more advanced decay
Plaque – a thick, sticky film on the teeth

Finding cavities early can help prevent bigger dental problems later on.

5 Stages of Tooth Decay You Should NEVER Ignore!

Tooth decay doesn’t happen overnight - it’s a slow, silent process that you can stop if you catch it early.

🦷 Stage 1: Demineralization - The first sign of enamel weakening.
🦷 Stage 2: Enamel Decay - Small holes form - the cavity begins.
🦷 Stage 3: Dentin Decay - Sensitivity and discomfort kick in.
🦷 Stage 4: Pulp Damage - Deep infection causes severe pain.
🦷 Stage 5: Abscess - The infection spreads; swelling and fever may appear.

🌟 Prevent it:
✔️ Brush twice a day with fluoride
✔️ Floss daily
✔️ Limit sugary foods
✔️ Visit your dentist every 6 months
