SUPERNUMERARY!? 🦷

A supernumerary tooth is an EXTRA tooth that develops in addition to your normal set. 🦷

It occurs in about 1% of people and is often first spotted on an X-ray since it may not come through the gums.

There’s often a genetic link, and in some cases, these extra teeth can cause crowding or affect how other teeth grow in, sometimes requiring orthodontic treatment.

Not all supernumerary teeth cause issues, but they’re something we keep an eye on to ensure your smile stays healthy.

THE ONE WHO… 📸

Anyone look familiar? It wasn’t that long ago we were all going in for our first check up at the dentist.

When should a child first go for their first dental visit? The recommendation is within 6 months of the first tooth erupting or by their first birthday.
