Tooth Extraction Aftercare 🦷

DO’s & DON’Ts for a Smooth Recovery

✅ DO:
• Bite gently on the gauze for 30–60 minutes
• Eat soft foods like yogurt, soup, and mashed potatoes
• Rest and keep your head elevated
• Use a cold compress to help with swelling
• Take medications as directed by your dentist
• Rinse gently with warm salt water after 24 hours

❌ DON’T:
• Rinse, spit, or use a straw during the first 24 hours
• Smoke or drink alcohol for at least 48 hours
• Eat hard, crunchy, or spicy foods too soon
• Touch the extraction area with your fingers or tongue
• Do heavy physical activity right after the procedure

If you experience severe pain, heavy bleeding, or worsening swelling, contact your dentist right away.
