It’s never too early to start caring for your child's teeth!

Establishing good oral hygiene habits early on sets the foundation for a lifetime of healthy, strong smiles. Whether your little one just got their very first tooth or already has a mouth full of baby teeth, taking small steps today makes a big difference tomorrow.

Here is how to set them up for success:

Start before teeth arrive: Gently wipe your baby's gums with a soft, clean cloth after feedings to sweep away bacteria.

First tooth, first visit: A great milestone rule is to bring them in for their first dental visit around their 1st birthday or within six months of their first tooth appearing!

Brush together: Make brushing a fun joint activity! Use a tiny smear of fluoride toothpaste (about the size of a grain of rice for under 3s) twice a day.

Keep it positive: Frame dental visits as fun and exciting adventures to build comfort and confidence from the very beginning.

Our team loves helping our youngest patients feel completely at home in the chair!

Is your little one due for their first milestone visit? Give us a call or send us a message today to book!

5 Simple Habits for a Strong, Healthy Smile!

Keeping your teeth and gums in top shape doesn't have to be complicated! Incorporating these five essential habits into your daily routine is the easiest way to protect your smile for years to come:

𝗕𝗿𝘂𝘀𝗵 𝗧𝘄𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘆: Spend two full minutes brushing every morning and night to clear away plaque and food particles before they turn into tartar.
𝗨𝘀𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗙𝗹𝗼𝘀𝘀: Brushing alone leaves behind nearly 40% of your tooth surfaces! Flossing daily removes hidden debris between teeth where your toothbrush can't reach.
𝗙𝗹𝘂𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗵: Fluoride helps strengthen enamel and makes your teeth more resistant to decay. Ensure your daily toothpaste includes fluoride to keep enamel resilient!
𝗟𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘁 𝗦𝘂𝗴𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝗰𝗶𝗱𝗶𝗰 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝗱𝘀: Plaque bacteria feed on sugars, producing acids that wear down your enamel. Swapping out sugary treats for tooth-friendly snacks keeps your teeth protected.
𝗥𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗗𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗰𝗸-𝘂𝗽𝘀: Visiting us every six months allows our team to remove hardened buildup and catch minor issues early, keeping your routine care straightforward!

We follow the Alberta Dental Fee Guide to keep your family's routine dental care clear, accessible, and predictable.
