7 things dentists don’t always tell you - but Dr. Gaurang Gokhale thinks you should know 👀🦷
1️⃣ No pain doesn’t always mean no problem.
Cavities and gum concerns can develop quietly, which is why regular exams matter.
2️⃣ Bleeding gums aren’t something to ignore.
Occasional irritation can happen, but frequent bleeding may be a sign that your gums need attention.
3️⃣ Brushing harder doesn’t mean brushing better.
Too much pressure may irritate your gums and wear down your enamel. Gentle, thorough brushing is the goal!
4️⃣ Your gums need cleaning too.
Your toothbrush can’t always reach between your teeth—which is why flossing or another recommended interdental cleaner is important.
5️⃣ Dental X-rays can reveal what we can’t see.
They may help identify concerns hiding between teeth, beneath fillings or below the gumline.
6️⃣ Dry mouth can affect more than your comfort.
Saliva helps protect your teeth, so ongoing dryness may increase your risk of dental problems.
7️⃣ Small concerns are usually easier to manage early.
Waiting until something hurts can mean the problem has already progressed.
Which one surprised you the most? Save this for later and share it with someone who needs the reminder! 📲
