Why do we need to get our wisdom teeth extracted?

Wisdom tooth removal isn’t just about skipping discomfort—it’s about protecting your smile and long‑term oral health. When those third molars get stuck under your gums or don’t fit right, they can lead to infections (like pericoronitis), cysts, and even damage nearby teeth.
They often crowd your mouth, making cleaning tough and increasing the risk of decay and gum disease.
Removing them while you’re young—usually in your late teens or early 20s—means quicker healing and fewer complications than waiting until later in life.
Better to take them out now than deal with painful surprises later. Your future self (and your dentist) will thank you!
