Another year, another day of free dental care! We are so grateful to be able to give back to our community in this way. In June every year, we offer a day of free hygiene appointments to those in need. This year we are happy to share that 14 patients ended their day with a healthier smile!

🧠 **What if I told you that custom mouthguards aren't just about protecting teeth?**

Most parents, coaches, and even athletes don't realize that one of the biggest reasons we wear a properly fitted custom mouthguard in contact sports is to help absorb and distribute impact forces. While no mouthguard can prevent all injuries, a custom-fit mouthguard is an important part of protecting young athletes and reducing the risk of serious dental and oral injuries, and most importantly, concussions.

As someone who is passionate about athlete safety, I've had a vision for a long time: **bring custom mouthguards directly into our high schools so every student-athlete has access to the best protection possible.**

This year, that vision became a reality.

A huge thank you to Coach Hogan at Aldershot High School for believing in this initiative from day one. When I approached him with the idea of bringing custom mouthguards into the school, he didn't hesitate. Together, we coordinated a day to take impressions for the hockey and lacrosse teams, and two weeks later we returned to personally fit every athlete with their custom-made mouthguard.

I was honoured to sponsor the Aldershot High School hockey and lacrosse teams by providing FREE custom mouthguards because protecting our young athletes should never be an afterthought.

The smiles on their faces reminded me why this matters so much.

This is about more than mouthguards.

It's about educating athletes.

It's about supporting coaches.

It's about giving parents peace of mind.

And it's about creating a culture where safety comes first.

The truth is that people who clean between their teeth regularly with floss, or another tool - are at a significantly lower risk of experiencing cavities, bad breath, tooth loss, gingivitis, and other health/dental related issues 💜

They also spend less on their oral health and have more comfortable dental visits 🙌🏼
