How often do you need to have dental x-rays taken? 💭

This depends on your overall oral health. A healthy individual who has not had cavities or other problems for a couple of years will likely only require images annually. If your dental situation is less stable and your dentist is monitoring your progress, you may require more frequent images.

If you are not sure why a particular image is being taken, you can always ask your provider why! Please remember that dental images deliver very very little radiation, they are a necessary tool for your dentist to ensure that small problems don’t develop into bigger ones!
