COVID-19 UPDATE:

We are very happy to announce that we are now in the process of contacting patients to reschedule appointments that were postponed in March, April, May and June. Please keep in mind that we must also prioritize patients who are in pain or who may have an infection as we clear the backlog of appointments that were cancelled. We appreciate your patience and understanding and want to assure you that we will get you an appointment as quickly as possible.

We have worked hard over the past few weeks implementing new equipment and protocols to ensure the safety of our patients and staff. If you would like to read about some of these changes, please click the following link: https://highviewdental.com/covid-19-safety/

To all patients of Highview Dental,

We hope you and your families are well.

As you may have heard, the province announced that certain health care providers, including dentists, are now slowly able to resume regular treatment appointments. We look forward to seeing you again!

Patient and staff safety have always been our top priority and while many things have changed during the COVID-19 pandemic, our commitment to your safety has remained the same.

Our office has always utilized personal protective equipment (PPE) that has met or exceeded all government and regulatory body guidelines, however, in light of the COVID-19 pandemic we are in the process of instituting additional equipment and protocols.

We ask for your patience as we continue to prepare. Once we have a definitive opening date we will begin contacting patients to book appointments.

If you have ANY questions or dental issues, or if you would like to speak to us about our reopening plans, please call us at (905) 713-3334. In addition, Dr. Lazarus continues to be available for phone consultation.

The province has recently permitted dental offices to reopen. While this is good news, it doesn’t mean it's back to business as usual. Many office may not open for some time. Learn what to expect the next time you visit your dentist, and when that might be:

We recommend bringing your child to our office by 3 years of age so they can have their teeth checked and gently cleaned. Your child will enjoy playing with our toys in the waiting room, "going for a ride" in the dental chair, and picking a fun prize from our toy box at the end!

Sugary and Acidic drinks like Pop, Energy Drinks and Iced Tea are terrible for your teeth. BUT.....if you just have to drink them, here are a few tips do reduce the damage they cause:

1. Use a STRAW - keeps less of your teeth immersed in the drink.

2. Drink it QUICKLY - reduce the amount of TIME that your teeth are exposed to the liquid.

3. Sip WATER - rinse with some water right after you have the sugary drink.

Do you Clench or Grind your Teeth? It’s called Bruxism and it’s very common!

Some signs and symptoms:
* Sensitive teeth
* Chipped, fractured, cracked teeth.
* Worn down and short teeth.
* Pain when chewing
* Headaches
* Neck pain

Many patients who come to see us with sore or sensitive teeth think that they might have a cavity. The cause is almost always NOT a cavity but it is due to grinding/clenching of their teeth.

Sometimes a custom made Nightguard can solve the problem.

Call (905)713-3334 or visit us at www.highviewdental.com to book a complimentary consultation at Highview Dental 🦷.
