We all know having a tooth extracted is not fun! However, getting dry socket afterward is much worse!

You develop a blood clot in the socket where your tooth was removed. This clot should be present until the gums have healed and your mouth is back to normal. Dry socket occurs if that clot is dislodged, this can cause pain and delay the healing process. If you need a tooth removed, ask your dentist how to prevent dry socket.
