Occupational ergonomics and related musculoskeletal disorders among dentists: A systematic review

Results: Eighteen studies were found to be suitable in the final review. Relevant data was extracted and summarized from the included studies. The annual prevalence of musculoskeletal disorders in any body site ranged between 68% and 100%.

This one has given me a lot of satisfction. Patient presented on intake on June 29th 2021 with draining sinus after initial endo treatment on tooth 46, realised one month before.
Patient, is a professional athlete and leaves two weeks later for the Olympics in Tokyo, currently following a very strict ultimate training schedule. Patient wants the best solution, permanent or temporary, without any potential negative impact on the performance.
Clinical examination: draining sinus, no pockets, no mobility, slight discomfort. CBCT scan shows technically well performed endo and huge apical lesion extending close to NAI - see screen captures. Followed a very delicate and challenging deliberation with the medical staff of the athlete, and we were very happy finally to have them accept a conservative approach.
Temporary retreatment done one month after the Olympics and definitive ortho/retro intervention realised November 3rd.
Pré-op radiograph after first RCT, two screen captures of CBCT on intake and finally 2y 3m recall radiograph received from the referal last week.

Boy, 8y old on intake 4 years ago. Chronic abscess , tooth 21 painful to percussion, positive respons to cold. Diagnosis: Oehlers Type IIIb: periodontal infection around root tip through invaginated canal which is not communicating communication with the pulp space. Immature tooth : the goal of treatment is elimination of infection and preservation of vitality thus allowing for root formation.
Treatment: enlargement of invagination entrance through cleaning of the invaginated space with chloorhexidine and US, obturation of the access to the invagination.
Recall 4y: tooth is asymptomatic and vital, root formation completed. The palatal anatomy of the tooth is not jeopardizing normal occlusion
