বাংলাদেশ একাডেমি অব ডেন্টিস্ট্রি ইন্টারন্যাশনাল (BADI) গভীর উদ্বেগ ও ক্ষোভের সঙ্গে লক্ষ করছে যে, একাডেমির সাবেক উপদেষ্টা মেজর জেনারেল (অব.) অধ্যাপক ডা. গোলাম মহিউদ্দিন চৌধুরীকে রাজধানীর ইসিবি চত্বর সংলগ্ন দক্ষিণ মানিকদির নিউগিনি প্রপার্টিজ আবাসন প্রকল্পে গত ২৬ সেপ্টেম্বর রাতে সংঘটিত হামলা, ভাঙচুর ও লুটপাটের ঘটনায় ক্যান্টনমেন্ট থানায় দায়েরকৃত মামলার এজাহারভুক্ত আসামি হিসেবে ৩০ সেপ্টেম্বর সেগুনবাগিচার বাসা থেকে গ্রেপ্তার করা হয়েছে। পরদিন আদালত তাঁর তিন দিনের রিমান্ড মঞ্জুর করেছেন।

ডা. গোলাম মহিউদ্দিন চৌধুরী বাংলাদেশ সেনাবাহিনীর আর্মি ডেন্টাল কর্পস থেকে এ পর্যন্ত প্রথম ও একমাত্র মেজর জেনারেল। তিনি দেশের ওরাল ও ম্যাক্সিলোফেসিয়াল সার্জারি ও ডেন্টাল ইমপ্ল্যান্টোলজির একজন অগ্রণী চিকিৎসক এবং ডেন্টাল ইমপ্ল্যান্ট অ্যাসোসিয়েশন অব বাংলাদেশের সভাপতি। দীর্ঘ সামরিক ও বেসামরিক চিকিৎসাজীবনে তিনি হাজার হাজার রোগীর সেবা দিয়েছেন। BADI-এর সাবেক উপদেষ্টা হিসেবে পেশার মান উন্নয়ন ও নবীন চিকিৎসকদের দক্ষতা গঠনে তাঁর ভূমিকা সংগঠনের কাছে স্মরণীয়। যাঁরা তাঁকে ঘনিষ্ঠভাবে চেনেন, তাঁদের কাছে তিনি শৃঙ্খলাপরায়ণ, ধর্মপরায়ণ ও পেশাগতভাবে সতর্ক একজন মানুষ হিসেবে পরিচিত। ৬৬ বছর বয়সী ও শারীরিকভাবে অসুস্থ একজন অবসরপ্রাপ্ত চিকিৎসককে মধ্যরাতের সশস্ত্র হামলার সঙ্গে যুক্ত করে গ্রেপ্তার ও রিমান্ডে নেওয়ার ঘটনা পেশাজীবী মহলে তীব্র প্রশ্ন তুলেছে।

আমরা স্পষ্ট করে বলতে চাই: হামলা, ভাঙচুর, মারধর বা লুটপাটের মতো অপরাধের বিচার আমরা চাই। প্রকৃত দোষী যাঁরাই হোন, তাঁদের বিরুদ্ধে আইনানুগ ব্যবস্থা নিতে হবে। কিন্তু কোনো নামী-দামি পেশাজীবীকে শুধু জমির পুরোনো বিরোধের প্রেক্ষাপটে, ঘটনাস্থলে উপস্থিতির প্রকাশ্য প্রমাণ ছাড়াই এজাহারে টেনে এনে বলির পাঁঠা বানানোর আমরা তীব্র বিরোধিতা করি। স্বরাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রীর বক্তব্য অনুযায়ী ঘটনার পেছনে ভূমির মালিকানা-দখল নিয়ে দীর্ঘ বিরোধের ইঙ্গিত আছে। সেই দেওয়ানি বিরোধের নিষ্পত্তি আদালতে হওয়া উচিত; তাকে রাতের সশস্ত্র হামলার ফৌজদারি দায়ে রূপান্তর করা যায় না।

এমতাবস্থায় বাংলাদেশ একাডেমি অব ডেন্টিস্ট্রি ইন্টারন্যাশনাল (BADI) নিম্নোক্ত দাবি জানাচ্ছে:

১. মেজর জেনারেল (অব.) অধ্যাপক ডা. গোলাম মহিউদ্দিন চৌধুরী ঘটনার রাতে ঘটনাস্থলে ছিলেন কি না, হামলার নির্দেশ বা প্ররোচনা দিয়েছিলেন কি না, তা নিরপেক্ষ ও স্বচ্ছ তদন্তে যাচাই করতে হবে। অনুমান, পূর্বশত্রুতা বা জমির বিরোধকে সরাসরি ফৌজদারি সম্পৃক্ততার প্রমাণ হিসেবে গ্রহণ করা যাবে না।

২. ৬৬ বছর বয়সী ও অসুস্থ আসামির রিমান্ডকালে তাঁর শারীরিক নিরাপত্তা, প্রয়োজনীয় চিকিৎসা ও মর্যাদা নিশ্চিত করতে হবে। কোনো ধরনের নির্যাতন বা অমানবিক আচরণ অগ্রহণযোগ্য।

৩. তদন্তে তাঁর সরাসরি সম্পৃক্ততার নির্ভরযোগ্য প্রমাণ না পাওয়া গেলে অবিলম্বে তাঁকে মামলা থেকে অব্যাহতি দিয়ে মুক্তি দিতে হবে এবং জামিনের বিষয়টি মানবিক ও আইনানুগ বিবেচনায় দেখতে হবে।

৪. যাঁরা প্রকৃতপক্ষে হামলা, গুলি, ভাঙচুর ও লুটপাট করেছেন, তাঁদের চিহ্নিত করে দৃষ্টান্তমূলক বিচার নিশ্চিত করতে হবে। নিরপরাধ মানুষকে আসামি বানিয়ে আসল অপরাধীদের রক্ষা করা চলবে না।

৫. ভুক্তভোগীদের ক্ষয়ক্ষতির বিচার যেমন হতে হবে, তেমনি মিথ্যা বা অতিরঞ্জিত অভিযোগে কারও সুনাম ও স্বাধীনতা ক্ষুণ্ন হলে তারও প্রতিকার হতে হবে।

আমরা বিচার বিভাগ, তদন্ত সংস্থা ও সচেতন নাগরিকসমাজের প্রতি আহ্বান জানাই, যাতে এ মামলায় আবেগ, প্রভাব বা উদ্দেশ্যপ্রণোদিত এজাহার নয়, শুধু সাক্ষ্য-প্রমাণের ভিত্তিতে সিদ্ধান্ত হয়। ডেন্টাল পেশার এই অগ্রণী চিকিৎসক ও আমাদের সাবেক উপদেষ্টার প্রতি ন্যায়বিচার নিশ্চিত করা শুধু একজন ব্যক্তির প্রশ্ন নয়; এটি পেশাজীবী মর্যাদা ও আইনের শাসনের প্রশ্ন।

In Loving Memory of a True Pioneer and Mentor 🕊️

With profound grief and deep respect, we remember the legendary Prof. Dr. Motiur Rahman Molla, Ex-President of the Bangladesh Academy of Dentistry International (BADI) who breathed his last today (12th September 2026, Saturday) at 10:35 AM.

As a visionary leader and a true pillar of modern dentistry in Bangladesh, Prof. Dr. Motiur Rahman Molla Sir dedicated his life to advancing the fields of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and Dental Implantology. His wisdom, warmth, and unmatched mentorship have profoundly shaped the lives and careers of countless professionals across the dental community worldwide.
Though he is no longer with us, his remarkable legacy of knowledge, compassion, and excellence will continue to inspire generations to come.
Rest in peace, Sir. Your impact is truly beyond measure.

His Namaz-E-Janaza will be held tomorrow (13th September 2026, Sunday) after Duhr prayer at Baitul Aman Mosque, Dhanmondi 07, Dhaka.
We earnestly request for everyone to attend the Namaz-E-Janaza and pray for Prof. Dr. Motiur Rahman Molla Sir’s departed soul so that Allmight ALLAH (SWT) grant him the highest place in Jannah. Ameen.

The President, Secretary General, and all members of the Bangladesh Academy of Dentistry International (BADI) are deeply concerned and heavy-hearted regarding the critical condition of our respected mentor and former President of BADI, Prof. Dr. Motiur Rahman Molla.

Following severe complications related to an angiogram on August 20, 2026, Prof. Molla suffered a massive hemorrhagic stroke and is currently fighting for his life on life support at Evercare Hospital, Dhaka.

A visionary and true pioneer of modern dentistry in Bangladesh, Prof. Dr. Motiur Rahman Molla has dedicated his life to advancing the fields of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and Dental Implantology. The profound impact of his leadership, wisdom, and mentorship across the dental community is beyond measure.

We earnestly request all our colleagues, students, well-wishers, and the entire dental fraternity to join us in prayer for his swift and complete recovery. May Almighty Allah ease his suffering

🚨 বাংলাদেশে খাবারে মাইক্রোপ্লাস্টিক (৫ মিমি-এর ছোট প্লাস্টিক কণা) দূষণ নিয়ে গত কয়েক বছরে বেশ কয়েকটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ গবেষণা হয়েছে। এসব গবেষণায় দেখা গেছে যে চাল, লবণ, চিনি, মাছ, দুধ, আটা, চা-ব্যাগ, পানীয় ও টেপ ওয়াটারসহ প্রায় সব প্রধান খাদ্যদ্রব্যেই মাইক্রোপ্লাস্টিক পাওয়া যাচ্ছে। পরিমাণ বিভিন্ন গবেষণায় ভিন্ন ভিন্ন হয়েছে (নমুনা সংগ্রহের স্থান, প্রক্রিয়াকরণের মাত্রা, সনাক্তকরণ পদ্ধতি ও আকারের সীমা অনুযায়ী)। নিচে প্রধান খাবারগুলোর তথ্য গবেষণা রেফারেন্সসহ সংক্ষেপে তুলে ধরা হলো।
