The patient developed a cyst at the root of the tooth due to an apical infection. The patient was in severe pain and distress because of the infection. Previously, at another clinic, the patient was advised to extract the tooth.
However, after detailed clinical and radiographic evaluation, we decided to preserve the tooth. We successfully performed an Apicoectomy surgery, during which the infected tissue and cyst were removed while retaining the tooth.
We believe that with proper planning and timely treatment, it is often possible to save natural teeth.
