Trainee Dental Assistant Wanted!
We are hiring again and looking to add another long term member to our growing team. This is a great opportunity to start a career as a Dental Assistant and join the Miners’ Dental Clinic.
Training & Mentoring will be provided by friendly & experienced staff. Above award rates paid upon completion.
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities:
• Good People Skills – You will be interacting with a diverse range of people with different circumstances & backgrounds in a high pressure environment. As a medical service provider our No 1 priority are the patients so a passion for customer service, empathy and compassion are essential. (Having a sense of humour helps a lot too!)
• Enjoys Studying & Learning – Dentistry is a scientific, technical and constantly evolving field where a sound knowledge of payment systems, dental supplies, equipment, procedures & protocol is required to be successful. (Year 12 Certificate with maths & science subjects recommended)
• Likes Technology – We are upgrading to a state of the art practice with the latest Dental Chairs, Intra-Oral Cameras, Digital X-Rays, OPG X-Rays, 3D Scanners & CAD/CAM milling. You must be able to learn, use & maintain the tools required.
• Proficient with computers – Ours is a fully digitised practice with everything done electronically. You will be required to use Practice Management software, Microsoft Office products, manage multiple email boxes and do electronic filing.
• Likes Working In A Dynamic Fast Paced Environment – Your role will vary between reception duties and dental assisting. In order to be successful you will need to think fast, work fast & hard to ensure that patients receive the highest quality of care. (No patient likes late appointments)
• Strong Work Ethic & Team player– You will be part of a team where your colleagues will be dependent on you and vice versa. We pride ourselves on a maintaining a great work culture where we support each other, are great friends and love coming in to work. Skills we can teach you but a good character and warm fuzzy personality is something you need to bring with you.
• Personal Resilience – The job is busy and physically demanding. The workload can change quickly due to emergencies, or complex cases. You need to be able to take this in your stride and continue doing quality work. Not passing out when you see blood is really important as well!

The role is offered for 4-5 days/week with a 6 month probation. Formal qualification expenses will be funded by us after successful completion of probation.
