Ever wondered what an OPG actually is? 🦷👀

An OPG (orthopantomogram) is a panoramic dental X-ray that gives us a broad view of your teeth, jaw and surrounding structures.

They're particularly useful when assessing wisdom teeth, allowing your dentist to see how they're developing, their position and angulation, whether there's enough room for them to erupt and what structures they are close to.

Wisdom teeth are often assessed during ages 18- 25 but there isn't a set age or routine frequency for everyone. Your dentist will recommend an OPG when there's a clinical reason to do so.

And don't worry, it's quick and painless 😊

Future dentist in the making 🦷✨

Last Friday was a special day. We had Sophie step in to help with suction while her dad was in the chair! With a keen interest in dentistry, she got a little hands-on experience and absolutely smashed it 👏

We love encouraging the next generation and making the dental chair a little less scary (and a lot more fun). Who knows… we might be working alongside you one day, Sophie! 💙
