Small cavity, big warning sign 😬
A cavity starts when bacteria eat away at the outer layer of your tooth.
Left alone, it grows deeper and can reach the nerve.
Symptoms include sensitivity to sweets, sharp bites, or sometimes no pain at all.
To fill it, the dentist first numbs the area, then removes all the decayed part of the tooth.
The space is cleaned out, then filled layer by layer with a tooth colored material.
Each layer is hardened with a special light before the next one goes on.
Once it is built up, the dentist shapes and polishes it so it fits your bite naturally.
It is usually a quick, one visit fix.
Book a check up before a small cavity turns into a bigger problem.
