💛 A working day last week… it doesn’t get much better than this! 🥰

🍌 The morning began with a freshly baked banana tart, generously brought in by one of our lovely patients for the whole team to indulge in.

🌈 Then, in the afternoon, a child handed me a Post-it note after her dental examination. On it a beautiful rainbow that said the words, “You are the best dentist ever!” 🌈 💌

We are continually touched by these random acts of kindness from our patients, who truly are the heart of our practice.

“I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." 💕

These moments make our team feel seen and valued.. ✨

Beyond extraordinary. So grateful. 💛

🏃‍♀️ 🚴‍♀️ Wagga Lake Run & Ride 🌿 ☀️

Good to be part of the annual Wagga Lake Run & Ride on Sunday! Exercising, enjoying the outdoors, and, being involved in a vibrant community. 🌳 😊

There is something special about seeing people of all ages coming together, being active and supporting each other. ❤️

Beautiful weather, great community spirit and a little exercise thrown in… it doesn’t get better than that! 🌞 🚶‍♂️ 👏

🌿 Going to the Henty Field Days! 🌿

Wednesday was a wonderful team day at the Henty Field Days - one of Australia’s largest agricultural field days, which began way back in 1963 and now boasts more than 3,500 exhibitors! 🌾

There were so many highlights - sheep dog trials 🐕, fashion parades 👗, climbing up on tractors 🚜, shopping and, of course, a delicious CWA sandwich for lunch! 🥪 ❤️

A beautiful spring day which included the drive down and back past endless green fields, was a great chance to step away from the surgery! 🛻

Henty, we'll be back!

🏡 Refreshed from a few days in Adelaide — my childhood home. ❤️

Although I haven’t lived there for more than 40 years, there is something incredibly comforting about returning to familiar territory — the places, smells, memories and that wonderful feeling of nostalgia. 🥰

There were so many highlights: a sunset climb of Adelaide Oval 🌅, a breakfast tour of the Adelaide Central Market (recently ranked among the world’s best food markets 🥐☕️) parkrun 🏃‍♀️, Haigh’s 🍫 and Ditters shopping, bookshops 📚, museums, the beach 🌊, and wonderful dinners and brunches with friends and family! 🍽️❤️

As always, the very best part of any trip is time with the people who you may not see often, but with whom you can simply pick up where you left off.

Feeling very grateful for wonderful memories, old friendships, family and familiar places. ✨🏡

🥕🍰 A wonderful surprise! 🍰🥕

Sometimes the simplest gestures can make our working day feel very special. 💕 Today, a lovely patient arrived for her appointment carrying a freshly baked carrot cake for our team — and needless to say, it didn’t last long! 😋

We never tire of the kindness and generosity of our patients, who truly are the heart of our practice. ❤️

Thank you for the delicious treat — and for brightening our day! 🌷

💙 Happy Father’s Day!

Father’s Day is a lovely opportunity to acknowledge, not just today but every day, what a blessing it is to have wonderful male role models in our lives — those who inspire us, guide us, support us and, most importantly, love us.

Some of my most treasured memories are of time spent with my grandfathers, my father, my father-in-law and my husband.

Every year I grow tulips in memory of my father, who simply loved them. 🌷 I plant the bulbs on Mother’s Day and, almost magically, they flower around Father’s Day — a reminder that love and memories continue to bloom long after someone is gone.

From all of us at Dr Mary Anne Slater Dental Surgery, wishing all the wonderful dads, grandfathers, fathers-in-law, husbands and father figures a very happy Father’s Day. ❤️

🌊🐋 Back from a magical long weekend in Northern NSW! ☀️💙

Recently I enjoyed the most wonderful few days visiting friends, with so many highlights — parkrun 🏃‍♀️, long beach walks 🌴, whale and dolphin spotting 🐋🐬, fabulous food 🍽️, cocktails 🍹, shopping 🛍️, movies 🎬 and swimming 🏊‍♀️!

But, as always, the very best part was the time spent with old friends — where you simply pick up exactly where you left off, no matter how long it’s been.

A truly magical time creating memories that I’ll treasure forever. ✨🌅💕

🌴☀️ Back from paradise! ☀️🌴

After a wonderful week away in beautiful Fiji with my husband, I'm feeling refreshed, recharged and very grateful. It was our first visit, and staying on a stunning island was an unforgettable experience. With over 330 islands, Fiji truly is a little slice of paradise 🏝.

From the moment you step off the plane, you're welcomed with a heartfelt "Bula!" and the biggest smiles😊. The genuine warmth, kindness and hospitality of the Fijian people made every day feel special❤️ .

There were so many highlights—daily snorkels🛟and swims amongst colourful coral, tropical fish🐠, graceful manta rays and turtles🐢, breathtaking sunsets ☀️, delicious fresh tropical fruit and seafood, reading six books 📚, and drifting off to sleep each night to the soothing sound of the ocean waves🌊.

A week spent living on "island time" was exactly what was needed in the middle of a Wagga winter. Now it's time to swap the sand and crystal-clear waters for the surgery🪥.

Vinaka vakalevu, Fiji, for the memories. Bula until next time! 🌺💙

Happy Birthday to our wonderful dental assistant, Bridie! 🎉

Last week we had a lovely time celebrating with a delicious red velvet cake, made by her talented sister, Kirralee 👏❤️🍰 . Both Bridie and Kirralee work part-time with us while completing their university degrees. We are so proud of all they are achieving.

Bridie's calm manner, winning smile and incredible computer know-how makes every day run that little bit smoother for our team 💻. She is always ready to help, supports everyone around her, and brings a quiet confidence that we appreciate😄.

Bridie is such an essential part of our surgery, and celebrating her birthday was an absolute joy. Wishing you a wonderful year ahead, Bridie – thank you for everything you do 🥳 🎈🦷.
