Hi all,

A quick update that we are staying open for the public holiday to mourn the Queen on 22 September (we are closed for the Grand Final public holiday on 23 September). Given the short notice of the public holiday, it would have been difficult to reschedule everyone to another day without causing significant delays (in some cases months) to some. Our staff will be in touch soon to confirm appointments!

Dear family and friends,

In line with government lifting of restrictions on dental treatment, we will be able to see all patients starting from tomorrow, Friday 22 October.

We really do appreciate your understanding over the last few months, with the constant rescheduling and delays. Thank you to all for putting up with everything, for staying in treatment longer than expected, and for postponing your anticipated treatment. We hope to see all of you soon!

Dear family and friends,

Unfortunately, Melbourne’s lockdown does not look to have an end in sight at this moment. Although we have been cancelling the vast majority of our patients, seeing only the critically urgent appointments so far, we do realise that this is not sustainable in the long-term.

So far, we have only seen patients whose treatments would be significantly affected if we did not see them at this time, and also patients in pain. However, with the increasing duration of each lockdown, more and more patients are falling into this category. We don’t know how long the lockdown extension is going to be, but we definitely expect it to be extended past 2 September.

Therefore, considering the potential lockdown duration of several months, from Friday 3 September, we will be seeing more patients that we had rescheduled earlier in the lockdown. Our staff will call/text you either to confirm your appointment, or to reschedule your appointment. If you feel that you should be seen and we are still rescheduling you, please let us know. Conversely, if you are happy to continue postponing your appointment, and are certain oral hygiene is being maintained and there are no other factors that would affect treatment outcome (other than a delay of treatment completion), please also let us know and we will reschedule you.

Dear family and friends,

Due to another lockdown, Ferntree Orthodontics is temporarily closed until Friday 13th August. We are open for emergencies as usual, so please call and we can help.

We have been working hard to reduce impact on our patients as much as possible, and completely understand the frustration of these recent lockdowns. If we can beat this outbreak quickly, hopefully we can enjoy the rewards of this lockdown for a lot longer this time around.

Dear patients and families,

Due to the government announcement of a snap lockdown until next Tuesday 20th July, Ferntree Orthodontics is required to close for all non-urgent care. We hopefully will be back open on Wednesday 21st July. EDIT: Due to the lockdown extension, we hopefully will be back open on Wednesday 28th July.

We sympathise with all of you who have gone through this many times before, especially for those of you who were looking forward to taking their braces off!

Good news 4.0! With the easing of restrictions, Ferntree Orthodontics will re-open this Friday 11 June. We are so glad to be back and can't wait to see you again. Much thanks to our staff who have been working hard to notify and reschedule everyone. We also wish you and your family the best in your road to getting back to normal.

Following government directive, the lockdown extension applies to dental treatment and Ferntree Orthodontics will have to close until the projected end of lockdown. We are still here for emergency treatment if you have anything causing pain - please call us and the phones will be answered and you will be seen.

Dear patients and families,

As you may all know, a level 4 lockdown is currently in effect and we will tentatively re-open on Thursday 18 March. This may change depending on further government announcements.

The restrictions on which urgent care needs we can see are a lot stricter than the previous lockdowns. This hopefully is mitigated by the fact that this lockdown is supposed to be much shorter. However, if you are in pain, please call us and we will try our best to sort it out - either in person or in a virtual consult to guide you how to relieve the issue.

We are in the process of rescheduling appointments for all affected patients, but please feel free to call if you have any questions!

Dear patients and families,

Good news! As announced by the government today, the urgent care dental restrictions are being lifted effective tomorrow Monday 28 September (we are open tomorrow). This allows us to perform most orthodontic procedures once again.

We will be trying our best to address everyone's needs. Please note COVID-safe plans are still in effect, meaning that we cannot book appointments tightly together and therefore cannot fit in all missed appointments of the past weeks into a short space of time. We also want to make sure we do not "rush" any appointments. Nevertheless, please feel free to call with any problems or questions, and we will try our best.

We know these past few weeks have been a challenge for everyone. Hopefully we are heading towards a fast recovery.

Dear patients and families,

In line with new ADA recommendations, we are moving to level 3 dental restrictions from this Friday 7 August. This means we can no longer see patients for appointments unless there is an urgent need. The aim of these restrictions is to reduce exposure to patients, their families, and our staff to potential community transmission of COVID-19.

Please note that if you have any appliances causing pain, significant discomfort, or have any other urgent treatment needs, that we will be available to see you. Please call us on 9756 0519 as usual.

We will update you as soon as there is another change in restrictions. We hope that all these community and dental measures will help get us past this wave as soon as possible.

Dear patients and families,

We hope everyone has been keeping safe and healthy. In line with the government's announcement of reducing dental restrictions, we will be open again from next Monday 27th April. We are in the process of contacting everyone to confirm their upcoming appointments. There are still some restrictions on particular procedures, but we should be able to see most people now for their treatment.
