Dear family and friends,
Unfortunately, Melbourne’s lockdown does not look to have an end in sight at this moment. Although we have been cancelling the vast majority of our patients, seeing only the critically urgent appointments so far, we do realise that this is not sustainable in the long-term.
So far, we have only seen patients whose treatments would be significantly affected if we did not see them at this time, and also patients in pain. However, with the increasing duration of each lockdown, more and more patients are falling into this category. We don’t know how long the lockdown extension is going to be, but we definitely expect it to be extended past 2 September.
Therefore, considering the potential lockdown duration of several months, from Friday 3 September, we will be seeing more patients that we had rescheduled earlier in the lockdown. Our staff will call/text you either to confirm your appointment, or to reschedule your appointment. If you feel that you should be seen and we are still rescheduling you, please let us know. Conversely, if you are happy to continue postponing your appointment, and are certain oral hygiene is being maintained and there are no other factors that would affect treatment outcome (other than a delay of treatment completion), please also let us know and we will reschedule you.
