As the global COVID-19 (Coronavirus) continues to evolve, we wanted to share with you some important information about the steps we are taking to minimise the risk of exposure to our staff, our patients and the greater community.
The Australian Government Department of Health’s current advice is that anyone returning from overseas travel should self-isolate for 14 days after arrival. Anyone developing a fever or cough should seek medical advice urgently.
In alignment with current advice we are asking patients to delay their dental visits if:
· You are experiencing any flu-like symptoms
· You have recently travelled overseas: please self-isolate for 14 days to allow for any possible symptoms to manifest.
Our greatest priority at this time is the health and safety of all our team members and you, our valued customers. Despite current challenges facing the industry, we can reassure you that our practices are fully staffed and operating as normal. We’re following ALL guidance provided by the Australian Dental Association on reducing transmission risks and this is reassessed daily.
We are taking additional steps above our already existing strict hygiene protocols, to ensure that our practice remains a clean and hygienic environment for everyone. These measures already include:
All areas regularly cleaned and disinfected after every patient is seen.
Everyone is wearing surgical masks at work and mandated to regularly wash their hands.
Staff returning back from affected regions, or in close contact with people from high risk areas, or who show relevant symptoms are required to have self/home quarantine for 14 days before being allowed back to work.
Our infection control processes are compliant with Dental Board of Australia, ADA Guidelines, and Australia/New Zealand Standards. This ensures that all patients who enter our practice feel safe and in a clean environment
Rest assured that we have sufficient stocks of face masks, gloves, hand sanitiser and other personal protective measures to ensure the safety of our patients and staff for at least the next three months.
We will keep you informed as to any developments regarding this situation.
