The 2026 NRL season is officially underway 🏉

We’re proud to support Jonah Pezet and Ethan Strange with their dental care as they kick off a brand new season.

At Seascape Dental our role is simple: helping keep their smiles strong, healthy, and game-ready throughout the year.

Professional sport demands a lot from the body, and oral health is part of that performance equation.

Wishing both players a big season ahead.

We’ll be supporting them behind the scenes, one check-up at a time.

5 Reasons Why You Need to Floss 🦷✨

Think flossing is optional? Think again 👀

Here’s why this small habit makes a big difference:

🧵 Removes plaque your toothbrush can’t reach
😁 Helps prevent bad breath
🦷 Keeps gums healthy & reduces bleeding
✨ Supports overall health
💪 Protects bone around your teeth

Just a few minutes a day leads to healthier gums, fresher breath, and fewer dental issues down the road.

Your future self will thank you 😄

Dry mouth isn’t just uncomfortable, it can quietly impact your oral health 🦷💧

Saliva plays a vital role in protecting your teeth and gums by washing away bacteria, neutralising acids, and keeping your mouth comfortable.

When saliva levels drop, the risk of tooth decay, gum disease, bad breath, and sensitivity increases 😬

That’s why ongoing dry mouth shouldn’t be ignored.

Simple saliva stimulating solutions like sugar-free gum, lozenges, sprays, and staying hydrated can make a big difference 💙

If dry mouth is ongoing, let’s talk and protect your smile early

Getting over the flu or a cold? 🤧🦷

Don’t let your toothbrush slow you down.
When you’re sick, germs and bacteria can cling to your toothbrush and hang around long after you’re feeling better.

Using the same brush again can re-introduce those germs and slow down your recovery or even make you sick again 🪥🚫

Once you’re better, do yourself a favour and toss the old toothbrush and start fresh ✨

It’s a small step that helps protect your oral health and your overall health

💙 Save for later 💙

A tooth infection can start when bacteria enter through a cavity, crack, or old dental work. Common warning signs include ongoing or throbbing tooth pain 😖

Sensitivity to hot or cold that lingers ☕❄️

Pain when chewing, and swelling in the gums, jaw, or face 🤕

A bad taste in your mouth or drainage near a tooth 🤢

A darkened tooth, or even fever can also signal infection 🤒

Tooth infections won’t heal on their own 🚫 and can spread if ignored.

If something feels off, don’t wait, early treatment can relieve pain, stop the infection, and help save your tooth 🦷✨.

💙 Save for later 💙

🦷 Cracked Tooth Syndrome (CTS) occurs when a tooth develops a small crack that is often invisible to the eye and may not appear on dental X-rays.

⚡ It commonly causes sharp, sudden pain when biting down or releasing pressure, along with sensitivity to hot, cold, or sweet foods.

🍬 CTS can be caused by chewing hard foods, teeth grinding or clenching, large or ageing fillings, dental trauma, or normal wear and tear over time.

🔍 Because symptoms can come and go and are difficult to pinpoint, CTS is often overlooked or mistaken for another dental issue.

⚠️ If left untreated, the crack can worsen, allowing bacteria to reach the nerve, which may lead to infection or cause the tooth to split completely.

🛡️ Early diagnosis is key. Treatments such as crowns or onlays can protect the tooth, prevent further damage, and help avoid more complex procedures like root canal treatment or extraction

Healthy dental habits start early ✨

From cleaning gums before the first tooth appears, to supervised brushing and flossing in the early years, every stage plays a role in your child’s oral health 🦷👶

Using the right amount of fluoride toothpaste, maintaining a consistent routine and visiting the dentist early helps set the foundation for strong, healthy smiles that last a lifetime 🪥⏰

Dental X-rays aren’t optional, they’re essential.

X-rays allow us to see what’s happening beneath the surface of your teeth and gums. Cavities between teeth, infections at the root, bone loss, impacted teeth, and early signs of gum disease often show no visible symptoms until they become serious (and expensive) problems.

Skipping X-rays is like asking your dentist to work blind. We may see the surface, but critical issues can remain hidden without proper imaging. With routine, low-radiation digital X-rays, we can catch problems early, plan accurate treatment, and help you avoid pain, tooth loss, or complex procedures down the line.

They’re quick, safe, and one of the most important tools we use to protect your long-term oral health.

Early detection always beats late treatment.
