Our Practice:
We hope you find our purpose built dental clinic both clean and comfortable during your visit. We strive to meet the highest standard of infection control and patient care as possible. Not only are we one of the few practices in Australia to have completed practice accreditation, we are also fully registered with a number of Associations including the Dental Practice Board, Australia
n Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, Veteran’s Affairs and Medicare Australia. Ross is also a member of both the Australian Dental Association (National) and the Australian Dental Association Victoria. We have a number of educational brochures, books and videos available to discuss with our patients, focusing upon all aspects of dentistry. Our comfy consultation room has couches for you to relax on while we go through many of our products, brochures and individually formulated treatment plans. Our aim is to provide you with as much information as possible in a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. Our reception has a great mix of local newspapers and many current magazines to keep our patients occupied before their appointment or while family members are waiting for one another. Tea, coffee, hot chocolate and water drinks are available from our friendly staff. We have a great reputation with working with children and aim to make their visit with us enjoyable and happy. Our children’s play area is fitted out with Lego table, books, building blocks, infant toys, Sony playstation, television and DVD which proves to keep the children amused. Children love hunting through the kids surprise box and getting a small gift for being a great patient in the big chair at the end of their appointment. We also provide fun programs for local kindergartens to come on an excursion with the children for dental awareness and introduction to the dentist and dental environment. Story books are read, funny movies are watched, sugar boards and lunch boxes are discussed to introduce them to dental health awareness and healthy eating. We also attend local schools and discuss dental awareness and healthy eating within our community. For your comfort two of our three surgeries are fitted with roof mounted televisions to make you feel at home in the big chair, all our rooms providing background music to keep you relaxed. Our Philosophy:
Ross purchased the dental practice in 1994. In 1997 Joelene started working at the practice as a dental assistant. During this time Ross and Joelene have worked together to build a strong efficient dental practice: Ross focusing on the dentistry side while Joelene focuses on the management and day to day running of the practice. In 2005 along with their wives and husbands, a partnership was formed and a purpose built dental clinic was built and Tatura Dental Care moved into its current location in December 2006. The move into bigger and brighter facilities enabled the practice to expand and practice more efficiently and focus on our philosophy of Health Directed Dentistry. As are a health based practice, we believe that people should have their own healthy teeth for the rest of their lives. Instead of the old ‘drill and fill’ approach we determine why there is a problem and how we can prevent it from recurring. To help you achieve this goal, we deliver programs focused on health directed dental care which supports the elimination of current disease and enables the prevention of future health issues. We focus on your overall health and not just the health of your mouth. The most valuable services we can offer you without exception are our Health-directed Dental Programs. Through a series of visits you will learn about the causes of your dental disease and subsequent coaching will help you develop the skills necessary to control and eliminate the causes. The most important thing you will discover in the dental health programs is that the use of a toothbrush on its own will not prevent dental disease. Together, we will tailor a program to suit your needs after your first visit and consultation with us.
