Twelve months later the water is gone but the memories remain.
We remember the fear, the loss, and the uncertainty. We also remember the courage, neighbours helping neighbours ,strangers becoming friends and a community refusing to give up.
Recovery has not been quick or easy but every rebuilt home, reopened business and shared meal has been a reminder that even after devastation life returns.
Today we honour what was lost, celebrate how far we have come as a team and continue supporting those still rebuilding.
