This is where every treatment plan at Pitt Street Dental Centre begins. 💬

Before anything else, Dr Michael sits down and has a conversation. No clinical chair, no instruments, just a genuine discussion about what you are looking to address and what matters most to you.

During this consultation, Dr Michael reviews your photos together with you so you can see exactly what he sees. It is an important part of making sure every plan he develops is built around your individual goals, not a one-size-fits-all approach.

From there, a written treatment plan is prepared so you know exactly what is involved before anything begins.

If you have been thinking about your dental health or exploring your options, this is where it all starts. Come and have a chat with Dr Michael. 😊

Five things people get wrong about dental implants in Sydney, C*D. Dr Michael Cai sets the record straight. 🦷👀

Here is what we actually do differently at Pitt Street Dental Centre:

1. We do not look like a typical dental clinic.
Think calming atmosphere, aromatherapy, and a space designed to feel anything but clinical.

2. An implant is not just a tooth replacement.
It affects your smile, your speech, the way you eat, and your overall facial structure. We plan with all of that in mind.

3. A standard X-ray is not enough.
Every implant consultation at our practice starts with a low-dose 3D CBCT scan, giving us a complete picture before we make any recommendations.

4. We do not work alone.
Complex cases are managed in collaboration with medical specialists, because the best outcomes come from the right team.

5. This is not just dentistry.
We think of Pitt Street Dental Centre as a five-star longevity dental spa, designed around each individual patient.

If you have been considering implants and want to understand what the process actually looks like, a consultation is the best place to start.

An Invisalign case focused on crowding and bite, by Dr Michael Cai. 🦷

This active and easy-going patient was referred to us with notable crowding, particularly in the lower arch, and was looking to address both the alignment and the bite. Following a thorough clinical assessment, Invisalign was recommended as a suitable pathway for his situation.

Treatment was carried out over 12 months through a series of clear removable aligners, working toward improving the alignment of the teeth and the overall bite relationship between the upper and lower arch.

Invisalign may be considered for patients presenting with crowding, spacing, or certain bite concerns. Suitability is always assessed on an individual basis before any treatment is recommended.

If you have been referred to us or have been thinking about addressing crowding or alignment concerns, a consultation with Dr Michael Cai is the best place to start.

Are you ever too old for dental implants? Dr Michael Cai answers this one directly. 🦷

The short answer is no. Age is not the limiting factor.

In over 18 years of practice and across more than 3,000 implant cases, the oldest patient Dr Michael has treated was 88 years old and continued to enjoy his implants well into his late 90s.

Here is what actually matters when assessing suitability for implants:

✅ General health, not age, is the primary consideration. Patients without severe unmanaged cardiovascular disease, metabolic disease, or active cancer may still be suitable candidates.

✅ In some cases, general health can be optimised through lifestyle changes and collaboration with treating physicians to support implant suitability.

✅ Even if medical complications arise after implants are placed, steps can be taken to monitor and manage them appropriately over time.

If you or someone you know has been told they are too old for implants, a consultation with Dr Michael Cai is the best place to get a proper assessment.

A combined Invisalign and implant case by Dr Michael Cai.

This patient presented with bite and alignment concerns alongside a missing upper tooth. The treatment plan involved two distinct components, Invisalign to address the alignment and bite, followed by a dental implant to replace the missing tooth.

Carrying out the alignment work first allowed the bite to be corrected before the implant was placed, ensuring the final restoration could be positioned appropriately within the overall arch.

Cases that combine orthodontic and implant treatment require careful sequencing and thorough planning from the outset. A detailed clinical assessment, including scans, X-rays, and bite analysis, is always carried out before any recommendations are made.

If you have been dealing with both alignment concerns and missing teeth, a consultation with Dr Michael Cai can help determine what treatment pathway may be appropriate for your individual situation.

Careful planning is essential when discussing options such as dental implants or All-Teeth-On-4.

At Pitt Street Dental Centre, each case begins with a comprehensive assessment, detailed imaging, and a discussion about what may be suitable for your individual oral health and goals. Our approach focuses on clear communication, thoughtful planning, and helping patients understand the options available to them.

If you’re exploring solutions for missing or compromised teeth, a personalised consultation can help determine what may be appropriate for your situation.

Even a small chip is worth getting checked. 👀

Here is Dr Michael taking a closer look at a chipped tooth for patient Simon. Sometimes what looks minor on the surface can tell a different story underneath, which is exactly why getting it assessed sooner rather than later is always the right move.

During the assessment, Dr Michael examines the extent of the chip, checks the surrounding tooth structure, and determines the most appropriate next step for Simon's individual situation. Treatment options for a chipped tooth can range from a simple polish or bonding through to a more involved restoration, depending on what the clinical findings reveal.

If you have chipped a tooth and have been putting off getting it looked at, this is your sign. Early assessment means more options and a simpler path forward in most cases.
