Missing teeth | Sydney Implant Institute

There is a meaningful clinical difference between a case that is complex and a case that cannot be treated. Age alone does not determine candidacy. Bone loss alone does not determine candidacy. The full picture only becomes clear after a proper assessment and that assessment is what a consultation is for.

If you have been sitting on this because you believe the window has passed, it is worth finding out whether that is actually true before making it a decision.

No obligation. Just information. Link in our bio.

Any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks. Before proceeding, you should seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner. Individual results vary. Dr Jacques Glover DEN0002650565.

Teeth grinding | Sydney Implant Institute

Bruxism is one of the most underdiagnosed dental conditions because most of the damage happens while you are asleep. By the time wear becomes visible it has usually been progressing for years.

What most people do not realise is that beyond the structural damage, chronic grinding changes the jaw itself. The masseter muscle, the primary chewing muscle, becomes permanently overworked, which is why grinders often carry tension in their jaw and temples long after they have stopped chewing.

For teeth that have been significantly worn down, restoration is possible in suitable cases. Crowns can rebuild tooth height, restore bite function, and protect what structure remains. It is not just about appearance, bite distribution affects how force travels through the jaw and surrounding teeth over time.

If grinding is something you have been told about or noticed yourself, it is worth understanding the full picture before the options narrow.

Why your denture gets looser over time | Sydney Implant Institute

It is not the denture failing. It is what is happening underneath it.

A denture sits on top of the gum and has no connection to the jaw bone beneath. As the bone naturally changes shape over time, the gum surface shifts with it and the denture that once fitted well no longer does.

Implant-supported fixed teeth work differently because they integrate with the bone itself, which is what gives them their stability over time.

If you have noticed your denture moving more than it used to, a no-obligation consultation is a good place to understand your options.

Not everyone can make it into our Sydney CBD or Bowral rooms and that is exactly why we offer an online consultation option.

Same team. Same conversation. Just from wherever suits you.

It is a good place to start if you want to understand what is involved, ask your questions, and get a clearer picture of your options before committing to an in-person visit.

Keep in mind that a full clinical treatment plan requires a CBCT scan, which is done in person at one of our locations. But if you want to know more about our process and take that first step towards finding out what is involved, this is how you do it.

Peta has been seeing Dr Mark Braund for fifteen years. In that time she has had individual crowns, lost a tooth that was causing ongoing problems, and managed a grinding habit that progressively wore her teeth down to the dentine.

This video is from after her first full set of crowns, rehabilitating her whole bite at once rather than managing individual teeth separately.

Teeth grinding is a chronic condition for a lot of people. It does not always have one moment of resolution. For Peta it has meant years of treatment, maintenance, and working with a practitioner who knows her dental history in full.

What she describes now - eating evenly across all her teeth for the first time, is what proper bite rehabilitation can make possible in suitable cases.

If grinding is something you have been told about or have noticed yourself, a no-obligation consultation is a good place to understand what is actually happening and what your options are.

Implant maintenance | Sydney Implant Institute

Something that comes up a lot in appointments with our oral health therapist Shai is the idea that implants do not require the same level of care as natural teeth.

It is easy to understand why that feels logical after all, titanium does not decay.

But the tissue around the implant, the gum and the bone underneath, still respond to bacteria. That is why your hygiene and maintenance appointment after a dental implant is so important. We are not just checking the surface. We are checking the whole implant environment.

If you have implants or are considering them, regular maintenance is part of how you protect that investment long term.

Dental implants Sydney | Most people wait longer than they should. Here is what a consultation actually involves.

A no-obligation consultation at The Sydney Implant Institute is not a commitment to treatment. It is a clinical assessment, a conversation about your options, and a clear picture of what treatment would involve for your specific situation.

No chair. No pressure. No obligation. Just information.

If you have been putting this off, the first step is simpler than most people expect.

Dental implants Sydney | They walk in and say they hate dentists. Here is what Phil hears instead.

Dr Phil Kenny has worked in environments where dental care was not a given. That perspective shapes how he listens when a patient walks through our doors carrying years of avoidance, bad experiences, or nerves they have never quite been able to explain.

What he has learned is that most people who say they hate the dentist are not actually talking about dentistry. They are telling you something about how they have felt in that environment before. Unheard. Rushed. Judged.

At The Sydney Implant Institute our team is here to make that experience different. The first step is never a clinical one. It is a conversation.

If you have been putting this off for a long time, you have not met the right team yet.

Dental implants Sydney | A denture and a dental implant are not the same thing. Here is the structural difference.

A denture sits on top of the gum. It does not connect to the bone underneath. So as the bone continues to change shape over time, the fit gets worse. That process does not stop on its own.

A dental implant is placed directly into the jaw. It integrates with the bone, the same way a natural tooth root does. In suitable cases, that integration is what stabilises the fit and addresses the bone loss that a denture cannot.

If you have been wearing dentures that are not working the way they should, or you have missing teeth you have been putting off addressing, a no-obligation consultation is the right first step.

5,000+ procedures completed. 30,000+ implants placed. Nobel Biocare implants exclusively.

All-on-4 Sydney | If you have been living with failing or missing teeth, this is worth two minutes of your time.

Dr Mark Braund, founder of The Sydney Implant Institute, breaks down how All-on-4 works. Four implants. A complete fixed arch. In suitable cases, temporary fixed teeth placed the day after surgery.

Not a denture. Not a partial fix. A fixed set of teeth supported by implants placed directly into the jaw.
If you have been researching this, putting it off, or wondering whether it could work for your situation, the next step is a no-obligation consultation with our team. It costs nothing and it will tell you exactly where you stand.

5,000+ procedures completed. 30,000+ implants placed. Nobel Biocare implants exclusively.
