How much does a dentist actually cost? Here are the prices for teeth cleaning, toothache, fillings, tooth extraction, crowns and root canals.

A from price is a starting point. The final price depends on the tooth, how much of it is affected and how involved the work is. Extractions are priced in tiers by how involved they are, from $99 for a simple extraction, and your dentist confirms which tier applies to you.

Thinking about All-on-4 dental implants in Sydney? Andy, a patient of Dr Zac Wilson, shares the questions he asked first.

All-on-4 is a full arch implant treatment. Four implants are placed in the jaw to support a fixed bridge of teeth, rather than one implant per tooth.

It may suit people who have lost most or all of the teeth in an arch, or whose teeth can't be predictably saved. It isn't suitable for everyone. Bone, gums, general health and medications all count, which is what the 3D CBCT scan at your consultation checks.

It's a big decision with several stages, so it helps to understand each stage, the materials and the costs before anything is booked. Andy's questions about materials and timing are good ones to bring to your own consultation.
