The journey to becoming an orthodontist taught me so much more than I expected! ✨

These are just a few of the beautiful surprises I discovered along the way. Every day I'm reminded why I chose this path - it's not just about moving teeth, it's about transforming confidence and changing lives.

The questions I hear all the time from my braces patients… and the answer is always the same 😅 NO!

✨ Here’s why:
🚫 Elastics are key for fixing your bite – don’t skip them
🚫 Hard lollies and nuts can break your brackets in seconds
🚫 Flossing is non-negotiable (your gums will thank you)
🚫 And no, you can’t just decide your braces are coming off early 😉

When I started my journey as an orthodontist, I hoped I’d make a difference.
But I didn’t expect this part — the full circle moments.

Teens I treated nearly 10 years ago now walking through the doors of Glow.
Some bringing their siblings. Some just stopping by to say thank you.
And all of them remembering how I made them feel.

That’s the kind of impact I want to leave.
Not just straight teeth.
But safety, trust, and being truly seen during the most vulnerable years.

Dear friends of Glow Ortho,

We are 1! It’s been an incredible journey, and I feel so fortunately blessed by the support that each and every one of you friends and patients who have been part of our very first year.
2024 was a year of blood, sweat, and - for those who know me well - internal tears. As someone who trained for 10 years to be an orthodontist and another 5 years in practice, I didn’t know a single thing about being in business. What I did feel was the overwhelming urge plus some baseless courage to create a space where people could feel exceptionally cared for, and deliver quality service that would inspire the confidence I experienced through my own personal orthodontic journey.
Some say I did it the hardest way possible. And as I pushed and challenged myself to learn everything that I thought an entrepreneur of a start up should, sometimes it really did feel like the hardest. There are days where I feel lost and unsure of myself, only to be built up in encouragement and inspired by my peers to keep the dream alive and not settle for less. I’ve had to learn how to be a good leader of an own team I built from scratch.

I have met many fellow orthodontists through this journey that I am honoured to call my colleagues, who have been so kind and generous with their time, advice and resources. Thank you, you remind me time and time again of why I love this profession so much.
And to my family, thank you for always believing in me and never failing to be there for me through the tough times.
Last but not least, I’m thankful to God every day for providing for me and sustaining me.
I look forward to years of building community with our patients we call the Glow Ortho Fam.
