What our dentists ACTUALLY eat in a day 👀
You’d think working in healthcare would mean we’re all incredibly healthy, well nourished, hydrated and living our best lives.
That’s adorable.
The irony of working in healthcare is that we spend our entire day educating people about the importance of looking after themselves, while treating our own basic human needs like an optional extra.
Lunch? If the appointment book allows it.
Hydration? We’ve heard good things.
Bathroom breaks? By appointment only.
Posture? A conversation for our physiotherapist.
Nutrition? Whatever can be eaten in 45 seconds between patients.
Mental wellbeing? We’ll get back to you on that one…
And after a full day of being a responsible, highly educated healthcare professional, here’s Dr Josh going home, collapsing into bed in the same scrubs he started the day in, cuddling Zeke like he’s just returned from war.
The reality is that healthcare is bloody hard work. Behind every dentist, doctor, nurse and healthcare worker is an actual human being who’s probably exhausted, running on caffeine and trying their best to keep everyone else healthy while occasionally forgetting to look after themselves.
We’re not perfect. We don’t have it all together. And despite knowing better, sometimes our own health ends up at the bottom of the priority list.
So here’s your reminder that the people looking after you are human too ❤️
Anyway, please remember to eat properly, drink plenty of water, limit sugary snacks and get eight hours of sleep.
We’ll be over here doing the exact opposite, probably!!
