On Sunday we had the pleasure of celebrating our third birthday with some of our nearest and dearest! Without our wonderful work family, we wouldn’t be where we are today! It is truly humbling to work with such extraordinary people who are dedicated to our patients as well as making work a fun and enjoyable place to be.

Thank you everyone for your support, and we look forward to sharing our journey with you all for many more years to come :)

We would like to extend a warm welcome to the newest member of our practitioner team, Dr Rosa Jee.

Dr Rosa graduated from The University of Sydney with a Doctor of Dental Medicine.

She believes that clear communication and respect are the foundation for delivering great quality dentistry. She prides herself on her ability to help patients feel more relaxed when visiting the dentist.

In her free time she enjoys reading, Netflix and spending time with her puppy!

Everyone knows the importance of brushing and flossing. What everyone does not know, however, is that it is also important to clean your tongue on a daily basis! Yep, you heard that right! Brushing and flossing alone isn’t enough to rid your mouth of harmful bacteria. Brushing your tongue as well as your teeth will help you to maintain the best oral health you can.

Fortunately, brushing your tongue is really simple. Your toothbrush will do an adequate job, but the bristles are designed for cleaning teeth. The best tool you can use is a tongue-scraper

When cleaning your tongue you’ll want to ensure you are brushing (or scraping) away from your mouth. Once you’re done rinse your mouth with a gentle mouthwash to remove any remaining residue. Simple :)

Toothbrushes are a key tool in taking care of your teeth and gums, but what are you doing to care for your brush? It is important that your tooth brush remains in good nick to ensure it’s able to effectively do its job.

- Give your toothbrush plenty of air time to ensure proper drying. Avoid storing it in random containers or plastic bags. A toothbrush holder is your best bet to avoid bacteria growth and mould

- Keep your toothbrush holder away from toilets and sinks to avoid bacteria growth

- Brush gently in circular motions to not only prevent damage to your teeth and gums, but also to avoid fraying of your brush

- Replace your toothbrush every 3 months or after illness

This year's World Oral Health Day campaign is ‘Be Proud of Your Mouth’ calling for everyone to not only take care of their oral health, but also their bodies through proper oral hygiene maintenance.
