Tahlia came with a request; "Make me hotter!"
After clarifying that I'm just a dentist and I possess no exclusive or unique skill or remedy that will benefit her in that way, we focused on her smile. Even so, it's a tough ask, and a minefield when the room for improvement is so marginal, and the potential for catastrophe is so high.
My initial advice was to do nothing: seriously...nothing. The risk reward analysis demands that diagnosis, planning and ex*****on are all carefully managed and that the outcome is as described and as expected. NOTHING moves forward unless the outcome, risks and costs of all treatment options are clearly defined and accepted. No second guesses, no surprises, no crossing fingers.
She knew what she wanted and knew what she was in for, and so we went for it. Detailed post to come.
In the meantime, please be aware:
This is Tahlia; this is not you. The outcome shown is relevant ONLY to Tahlia and does not necessarily reflect the results other patients may experience. If you didn't look like Tahlia beforehand, no amount of cosmetic dental procedures, magic, necromancy, sorcery, incantations, voodoo, prayer or ritual sacrifice will make you look like Tahlia afterwards. Check yourself and have realistic expectations of treatment before you begin.
Individual responses and results vary. Suitability, risks and alternatives require individual clinical assessment. Successful treatment outcomes depend on comprehensive examination and consultation, detailed clinical records, accurate diagnosis, comprehension of dental aesthetic principles , individualized patient-specific treatment planning, informed consent, contemporary theoretical knowledge, relevant academic qualifications, operator skill and aptitude, including experience and adherence to strict clinical protocols, quality assurance and outcome validation safeguards, implementation of and compliance to maintenance protocols and preventive/protective measures.
