We are pleased to announce that Zima dental pods are now available for purchase at our Stanmore clinic. Patients have been regularly asking us about how to keep appliances clean. These products are fantastic tools to help patients keep their nightguards, retainers, and aligners clean and well-maintained.
These pods are available for $150, the same RRP as the manufacturer. Please drop into the clinic to purchase one in person.

Meet Dr Liam, Stanmore's Principal Dentist

Dr Liam McElvanna has been the Principal Dentist at DentalCare Clinics in Stanmore since 2019. The majority of his treatments are limited to: dental rehabilitations using dental implants, clear aligners orthodontics, aesthetic composite & porcelain restorations.

After graduating with Honours from Trinity College Dublin in 2011,
Dr Liam has never stopped pursuing education in Dentistry. He has since undergone comprehensive dental implant training and has been awarded a Post Graduate Diploma in Dental Implants. In 2023, he was recognised by the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and awarded a Fellowship status having demonstrated excellence in the field of dental implants.

Dr Liam is currently mentoring the next generation of dentists, including recent graduates in NSW, Queensland and Victoria.

As a fellow inner westie, Dr Liam loves Stanmore’s community spirit, and continues to enjoy building relationships with his patients over the years.

Outside of work, Dr Liam enjoys keeping fit with running and resistance training, spending time with his family, travelling, cooking and exploring Sydney’s array of restaurants.

Meet The Team - Dr Colm Galvin, Wisdom Tooth Surgeon and Clinical Director

Dr. Colm is a caring and empathetic person who loves being a dentist.

He particularly enjoys treating nervous patients because he believes that everybody should have a positive experience when visiting the dentist. He is passionate about creating a non-judgmental environment where patients can relax and feel they are in control.

His goal is to make it easy for people to decide on what treatment is affordable and best for them. Colm loves helping patients understand what’s happening in their mouth to prevent bigger problems before they begin.

Dr Colm moved to Australia in 2011 and has lived in Sydney's Inner West since 2015. Since graduation in 2006 from Trinity College Dublin, he has improved his skills through regular courses and keeping up to date with new developments and techniques in dental care. Dr Colm regularly attends courses in Australia, in Europe and in the United States where he has studied at the prestigious Global Institute for Dental Education. His special interests include wisdom teeth removal and protecting teeth with natural-looking crowns.

When he is not creating beautiful smiles, Dr Colm loves spending time with his wife, daughter and dog. He also has a keen interest in reading, travelling and personal fitness.

What is involved in a New Patient Check Up and Clean?

Our New Patient appointment consists of 1 hour with one of our lovely and experienced dentists. During this appointment, the dentist will examine your mouth, soft tissues, gums, teeth and screen for oral cancer. They will also take any x-rays if required and perform a clean and fluoride application. After that they will explain any findings and give you all of your options so you can decide what you want to do.

How much does it cost?

The cost for this appointment is $255 (adult) and $190 (children U17) regardless of whether x-rays are required or you have a fluoride treatment. We also find that most health funds patients with extras have either no gap or a small gap to pay.
