SMILE TRANSFORMATION😁
Case type: Spacing
Treated by: Dr. Joshua Ch’ng
Treatment: Braces

This patient had spacing between his upper front teeth, mainly due to a missing upper left lateral incisor. Treatment involved braces to align the teeth and to redistribute spacing, which allowed replacement of the upper left lateral incisor with a bridge. Credit to Dr. David Laskey for the beautiful tooth replacement!

Teeth move throughout life, and without retainers, they will continue to move again. Long-term retainer wear is important for maintaining and protecting your smile into the future :)

METAL BRACES

Conventional metal braces are still the most common treatment option recommended by orthodontists for cases which may not be treated as predictably with clear aligners.

Conventional metal braces consist of metal square-shaped brackets which are bonded onto teeth. A metal wire is threaded through the slots of the brackets and secured to the brackets by small rubber ties. These small rubber ties come in different colours and can be changed at every appointment. This makes metal braces a popular option among teens.

At St Kilda Orthodontics we offer traditional metal braces, sometimes alone, or in combination with ceramic braces. To find out if you are a candidate for metal braces, book a complimentary appointment with our orthodontist today!

Case type: Underbite
Treated by: Dr. Joshua Ch’ng
Treatment: Braces and extractions

An underbite is unfavourable bite situation where the lower front teeth protrude out in front of the upper front teeth. This can negatively affect one’s appearance, chewing function, speech, and result in unfavourable wear of the upper front teeth. This patient’s underbite was treated with extractions and braces.
