In light of the Coronavirus we would like to give you an update on what is happening in our clinic.
The health and wellbeing of our patients and staff are at the forefront of everything we do.
Our clinic has strict hygiene practices that we adhere to everyday, but we have put in extra steps to keep the team and patients safe.
One way that you as our patient can help us achieve this is by letting us know immediately if you have any of the following symptoms:
Fever, Cough, Sore Throat or Shortness of breath and also if you have been overseas in the last 14 days.
If you are uncertain about any health issues you may currently have and your dental appointment, please phone our clinic and have a chat to our friendly team.
We are still fully operational and look forward to continuing to see patients for all their dental needs in the coming weeks.

Keep updated about the Coronavirus
This morning the World Health Organisation declared a Public Health Emergency of International Concern in relation to the Coronavirus. This gives the WHO greater powers to assist countries and make recommendations to prevent further spreading of the virus.

A novel (new) Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) has led to an outbreak of respiratory illness, first identified in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China. Coronaviruses are a large family of viruses that can cause illnesses ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases.

The 2019-nCoV virus is transmitted from humans to humans and has a reasonably high mortality rate. It is of concern to everyone but especially people with existing co-morbidities especially people with health concerns, disabilities and older people.

At 6:30am on 30 January, there were seven confirmed cases of 2019-nCoV in Australia: one in Queensland, two in Victoria, and four in New South Wales. Internationally, there are approximately 6,074 confirmed cases of 2019-nCoV, and 132 deaths had been reported.

Yesterday the Australian Government updated its advice to Australians about the novel coronavirus, based on the latest medical advice:
• People who have been in contact with confirmed novel coronavirus cases must be isolated in their home for 14 days after exposure.
• Returned travellers who have been in Hubei Province of China must be isolated in their home for 14 days after leaving Hubei Province other than for seeking individual medical care.
This is a changing situation and providers need to keep up-to-date with the latest advice both from the Commonwealth and from their state/territory governments.

The Australian Department of Health has dedicated webpage for this virus, and the latest Department of Health media releases are available here
