A fantastic evening of learning, discussion and connection at our latest CFP Study Club with Dr Soo Hee Lim, held yesterday in our Midland Clinic.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed to the conversation. It was great to see clinicians sharing experiences, discussing real clinical challenges, and learning from one another in a relaxed and supportive environment.

Our next Study Club with Soo Hee will be held on 29 July. If you're a recent graduate, early in your career, or simply looking to connect with like-minded clinicians while continuing to develop your clinical thinking, stay connected and keep an eye on our channels for upcoming details.

The best treatment plans do not begin with intervention.

They begin with understanding.

In complex dental care, it is easy to focus on the procedure but the long-term outcome is often shaped much earlier, in the planning phase.

Understanding prognosis, stability, function, maintenance and what matters most to the patient can change the direction of treatment entirely.

Sometimes the most important clinical decision is not what to do next, but whether enough information exists to proceed confidently at all.

That is why careful diagnosis and thoughtful sequencing remain central to long-term, predictable care.

Combining implants with removable partial dentures often requires careful decision-making around biomechanics, support, maintenance, patient expectations, and long-term restorative outcomes β€” particularly in cases where fixed treatment may not always be the most appropriate solution.

Join us for an upcoming ITI Study Club evening led by guest speaker Dr Hossam El-Haddad, alongside Dr Armand Putra, exploring practical approaches to integrating implants with removable partial dentures in complex patient scenarios.

Hossam is a prosthodontist currently practising across specialist clinics in Moonee Ponds and Melbourne CBD. He completed his Doctorate of Clinical Dentistry in Prosthodontics at the University of Melbourne and remains actively involved in academia as a lecturer and clinical supervisor within the dental school, where he also coordinates the implant component of the DDS program.

In partnership with Melbourne University and the International Team for Implantology (ITI), he contributes extensively to continuing professional development programs for general practitioners on prosthodontic and implant-related topics.

Clinical judgement is built in the grey areas β€”
the cases where there’s no obvious answer, and every decision matters.

Join Dr Soo Hee Lim for a small-group Study Club focused on how complex cases are approached in real practice: diagnosis, sequencing, risk, and decision-making.
Designed especially for recent graduates looking to build confidence through discussion, reflection, and practical insight.

Every day, a different story walks through our doors.

Some patients arrive feeling overwhelmed, discouraged, or uncertain after years of ongoing dental problems and unsuccessful treatment experiences.

One of the most meaningful parts of prosthodontics is seeing those same patients gradually regain comfort, confidence, and trust throughout their care.

Complex rehabilitation is rarely only about restoring teeth. It is often about helping people feel more comfortable eating, speaking, smiling, and participating in everyday life again.

While every journey is different, thoughtful planning, collaboration and long-term care can make a meaningful difference both functionally and personally.

Preservation is the foundation of long-term oral health.

Protecting natural tooth structure today can help support stronger function, comfort and stability over time.

At Centre for Prosthodontics, treatment planning begins with careful diagnosis, risk assessment, and a long-term perspective - because the best outcomes are not always achieved by doing more treatment, but by doing what is most appropriate for the patient.

In many cases, preserving what is healthy and maintainable can be just as important as restoring what has been lost.

Our focus is on care that is thoughtful, evidence-based and designed to support long-term function and quality of life.
