🦷 Myth: Kids don’t need to see a dentist until they’re older
✅ Fact: The earlier, the better!

Many parents wait until their child has a full set of teeth or experiences a problem before visiting the dentist... but did you know that the first dental visit is recommended by age 1, or within 6 months of the first tooth appearing?

👶 Early dental visits:
✔️ Help your child feel comfortable in the dental chair
✔️ Allow our specialists to check for early signs of decay or developmental issues
✔️ Give parents the right tools to support healthy habits at home (like brushing techniques, nutrition advice, and dummy use)
✔️ Prevent small issues from becoming big problems later on

💬 Our paediatric dental specialists love guiding families step by step with patience, care, and fun! 🥰

📍 Book your first visit today! All info is in our bio.

Did you know there’s a simple mineral that can protect your child’s smile from cavities? Let’s talk about fluoride! ✨

Fluoride is a natural mineral that plays a crucial role in protecting your child’s teeth from cavities. It helps strengthen tooth enamel, making teeth more resistant to decay caused by bacteria.

Why is it important?
From the moment your baby’s first teeth appear, using a fluoride toothpaste helps prevent cavities, which can quickly damage young teeth.

But be careful to use the right amount depending on your child’s age:
👶 For babies and children up to 3 years old: use a smear of fluoride toothpaste about the size of a grain of rice.
👦 For children aged 3 to 6: use a pea-sized amount.

Why these amounts?
Too much fluoride can cause dental fluorosis, white spots or streaks on the teeth caused by excessive fluoride intake. That’s why it’s important that children don’t swallow toothpaste.

Practical tips:
✔️ Supervise your child’s brushing until they’re old enough to spit out toothpaste reliably.
✔️ Choose a toothpaste specially formulated for children, with an appropriate fluoride level.
✔️ Ask your pediatric dentist if you have any questions or concerns.

Taking care of your child’s teeth now ensures a healthy, happy smile for life! 😄🦷

The impact of sugar and sugary drinks on kids teeth 🦷🍬

We all know kids love sweet treats : juices, soft drinks, biscuits, lollies… 🍭 But did you know that sugar is one of the main causes of tooth decay in children?

Here’s why sugar can be so harmful to those little smiles:

❗ When your child eats or drinks sugar, the bacteria in their mouth feed on it and produce acid.
This acid attacks the enamel (the hard outer layer of the tooth), leading to cavities and tooth decay over time.

⚠️ Sugary drinks are especially harmful.
Even fruit juices and flavoured milk can contain high amounts of sugar and because they’re often sipped slowly, the teeth are exposed to acid for longer periods.

👶 Children’s teeth are more vulnerable than adult teeth. Baby teeth have thinner enamel and are more easily damaged by acid attacks.

💡 What can parents do?
✅ Offer water instead of juice or soft drinks
✅ Keep sugary foods and drinks as occasional treats, not daily snacks
✅ Encourage brushing twice a day with fluoride toothpaste
✅ Don’t forget regular dental check-ups to spot any early signs of decay

A little change in daily habits can make a BIG difference in your child’s oral health 💙

Word of the day: Decay

Tooth decay is what happens when bacteria in the mouth feed on sugars and produce acids that slowly break down the tooth surface 😬

It starts small like a white spot or a soft area but if left untreated, it can turn into a cavity, or even lead to pain and infection.

The good news? 🧼
Decay is mostly preventable with healthy habits:
✔️ Brushing twice a day with fluoride toothpaste
✔️ Limiting sugary snacks and drinks
✔️ Regular dental check-ups

✨ Catching early signs of decay means easier, gentler treatments and happier little smiles!

📣 Got questions about tooth decay or how to prevent it? Our friendly team is here to help 🥰

🦷 Myth: If my child isn’t complaining, there’s no dental problem.
✅ Fact: Early cavities often cause no pain at all until they become serious!

Many dental issues in children, like early decay or enamel wear, develop silently. Kids might not mention any discomfort until the problem is advanced and that’s when treatments become more complex 😕

That’s why regular dental check-ups, even when everything seems fine, are key to catching issues early before pain (and cost) begin 🪥

💬 Prevention is powerful and our paediatric specialists are here to keep little smiles on track with gentle, proactive care!

How to teach kids to brush their teeth : 6 simple steps for parents 🪥

1️⃣ Lead by example
Brush your teeth with your child, kids love to copy grown-ups! Make it a fun family routine.

2️⃣ Use the right tools
Choose a child-sized toothbrush with soft bristles and a small amount of fluoride toothpaste (just a smear for under 3, a pea-size for 3+).

3️⃣ Make it fun
Use songs, brushing apps, or a 2-minute sand timer to keep it playful. Let them pick their toothbrush or toothpaste flavour!

4️⃣ Guide their hand
Let your child try brushing first, then take a turn to ensure all areas are clean, especially back teeth and along the gumline.

5️⃣ Stick to the 2x2 rule
Brush twice a day for 2 minutes, once in the morning and again before bed.

6️⃣ Celebrate progress
Use a sticker chart, praise, or a little cheer to reinforce the habit and keep motivation high 🎉

✨ Teaching good oral hygiene doesn’t have to be a battle with patience, play, and positive reinforcement, it can become a joyful daily ritual. Little steps now lead to healthy habits for life 🧼🦷💫
