New data from the Queensland Child Oral Health Study 2022-24 (QCOHS II) reaffirms the oral health value of water fluoridation. Tooth decay among children aged 5 to 10 dropped from 49.5 per cent to 39.4 per cent in fluoridated areas, with little to no change recorded elsewhere.

ADA President Dr Chris Sanzaro said the results reinforce the Association's national policy position on fluoridation.
