Hi Everyone.

We are now open seeing patients without any restrictions on practice. However, we ask that any patient who has any symptoms of a cold, fever, sore throat, loss of smell, taste or has been in close contact with any covid-19 positive individuals/ sites or have been confirmed with a positive covid-19 test, to delay any dental appointments.

The year is coming to an end quickly and we anticipate a rush of appointments to catch up from the previous lockdowns. So please call and make an appointment sooner rather than later to avoid the xmas rush.

Hi Everyone.

We are back to restricted practice under the current Covid-19 lockdown rules.

The ADA has received further confirmation from the government about the current lockdown rules of practice:

'This new advice allows ‘dental services undertaken by oral health professionals in the management of patients with urgent needs or care where failure to do so in a clinically appropriate timeframe will lead to adverse outcomes'.

The announcement of community restrictions for all Victorians reflects the increasing case numbers and community transmission of COVID-19. The primary goal of the community based restrictions is to minimise movement to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission. Restrictions on dental services are designed to balance the need to access necessary dental care with the reduction of movement of people in the community. This should guide clinical decision making. Clinicians should take a risk-based approach during this period.'

The practice will still be taking calls so please leave a message on the answering machine if you have any dental concerns.

We will be back to normal mode of practice next Wednesday, assuming nothing changes.

Hi Everyone,

Sadly we are heading back into lockdown. We have been instructed by the government to restrict our practice of dentistry to significant emergency management only.

This is an excerpt from the ADA:

The government has indicated that dental practitioners are authorised health service providers and are permitted to undertake procedures and surgical treatment in the management of patients with urgent needs that include:
• facial swelling
• intra-oral swelling
• facial trauma
• dental trauma
• significant/constant/uncontrollable pain.

Please be informed ProCare Family Dental will be closed from Friday 28 May 2021 to the 3 June 2021 for all routine dentistry.

However, should you have a dental problem involving any of the above conditions, please contact us and we will return your call as soon as possible.

Stay safe and we hope to see you when the lockdown is lifted.

Good Morning everyone.

Day one of lockdown and counting.

We have received further directives from the state government regarding new practice protocols.

According to the advice dentist can only manage 3 very specific dental emergencies. Their advice is as follows:

'Procedures and surgical treatment undertaken by dentists in the management of:
patients with obvious facial swelling due to infection i.e. vestibular swelling (no trismus), facial swelling (with trismus); or
facial trauma; or
severe unrelenting pain'

Hi Everyone.

I hope you and yours are in good health. I am writing to inform you about ProCare Family Dental closing for next week, 15/2/2021-19/2/2021, in response to the Victorian stage 4 lockdown for 5 days.

We have taken this step to contribute to the response by our state government to reduce spread of the new UK variant coronavirus. We are concerned for our patients well being and want to protect both our patients and staff from unnecessary risks.

Should you have an emergency dental issue and need to be seen please call the surgery and leave a message. We will be in touch as soon as possible.
