We spend a arge part of our lives at work - enough to notice when someone’s a bit off. However jokes, banter, or comments like “What’s your problem today” can make someone feel singled out or misunderstood.

A simple, quiet “Hey, I’ve noticed you’re not quite yourself, I’m here if you want to talk”, goes much further.

About: Canteen helps young people cope with cancer in their family. Through Canteen, they learn to explore and deal with their feelings about cancer, connect with other young people in the same boat and if they’ve been diagnosed themselves, they also provide specialist, youth-specific treatment teams.

By feeling understood and supported, young people develop resilience and can rebuild the foundations that crumbled beneath them when cancer turned their life upside down. That’s how Canteen is the difference.
