Twinkle Family Dental will be closed for the Christmas/New Year period from 1.30pm on Wednesday 24th December 2025 🎄⭐️
We will reopen at 9am on Monday 12th January 2026.
For any dental emergencies while we are closed you can call the Australian Dental Association Emergency call centre on 9369 7050 for the name of the nearest available dentist who is open during this period.

FREE DENTAL TREATMENT FOR KIDS

Have you been putting off taking your children to the dentist because of the cost?
Did you know that families receiving certain Centrelink payments may be eligible for dental treatment covered by Medicare under the Child Dental Benefits Scheme (CDBS)??

If your child is eligible Twinkle Dental will bulk bill for their dental treatment as long as they have available funds.

Twinkle Family Dental are no longer able to accept Oral Health Products for recycling as Colgate have closed the program with Terracycle.

BULK BILLED CHILDREN'S DENTAL CHECKUPS

At Twinkle Dental, if your child is eligible for the Child Dental Benefit Schedule they are able to have their dental checkups and and general dental treatment bulk billed to Medicare a long as they have available cap limit.

It is important to check that your child is eligible for the CDBS before booking their dental appointment.
Please let us know that you plan to use the CDBS for your child’s treatment when you book an appointment.

How much money can you access?
$1,132 worth of dental services is available over 2 calendar years. Once all the money is used, you will need to wait for the new 2 year cover period to start to access more.

Dental services covered by the CDBS include:

examinations
x-rays
teeth cleaning
fissure sealants
fillings
tooth removal
root canal treatment.

The CDBS does not cover orthodontic treatment, cosmetic dental work or dental services in a hospital.

It's important to clean your child's teeth from the time the very first one arrives.
Use children's toothpaste from 18months of age.
Flossing is important when they have teeth that touch each other as food can get trapped in between causing decay to start, even in baby teeth.

DENTAL HEALTH WEEK 2025 😁

It's really important to look after your child's teeth from the time they first come into their mouth.
Baby teeth are important for speaking and chewing, and hold space in the jaws for the adult teeth.
Tooth decay and trauma can cause pain, infection, difficulties with eating and speech and lead to crowding of the adult teeth. Extensive tooth decay or dental infections in young children may require hospitalisation and treatment under general anaesthetic.

Getting your children used to coming to the dentist for regular checkups from a young age is very important as they learn that there is nothing to be scared of, and it sets them up for good oral health as they grow and develop, and their permanent teeth erupt.
They should come at least once a year.

IT'S DENTAL HEALTH WEEK 2025 🦷😁

This year the focuses on the importance of children’s oral health milestones, educating parents and caregivers about what they need to do to help their kids “reach every S-milestone", taking them on a journey from birth through their initial teeth ... and beyond.

The basis of the message is the importance of -
* Brushing twice per day using a fluoride toothpaste.
* Cleaning in between teeth daily using floss or interdental brushes.
* Eating a nutritious diet, low in sugar.
* Seeing your dentist regularly.
