I am so privileged to be a consultant at Perth Children’s Hospital. There are so few Periodontists attached to cleft units worldwide that having the opportunity to explain why Periodontics is the link between Medicine and Dentistry, particularly for cleft lip and palate patients, is rare.
Thank you Dr Chris Wholley for the invitation to present what it is we do, and why it is so important.

The more complex the treatment, the higher the maintenance costs and more expensive the complications. You need to be able to finance long term maintenance and repairs. And complications will happen. Before you commit, consider the need for long term financial requirements.
