🦷 Meet Dr. Sahani Gunathilake 🦷

Dr. Sahani Gunathilake is a Specialist in Special Needs Dentistry with a passion for providing compassionate, patient-centred dental care for people with additional needs and complex health conditions.

After completing her Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) at the University of Adelaide in 2012, Dr. Sahani went on to complete her Doctor of Clinical Dentistry in Special Needs Dentistry at the University of Melbourne in 2020. She has extensive experience caring for patients with intellectual disabilities, medical complexities, dental anxiety and age-related care needs.

Known for her calm, caring and gentle approach, Dr. Sahani is dedicated to helping patients feel safe, supported and comfortable during their dental journey. She is committed to improving access to inclusive oral healthcare and empowering patients and families through understanding and personalised care.
Dr. Sahani enjoys travelling, reading and trying new cuisines!
Dr. Sahani is proud to be part of WSND, supporting the special needs community across Melbourne’s western suburbs.
