It’s important to remove food particles and plaque from your mouth, but don’t brush too soon after eating, especially if you have had something acidic.

Ideally, you should wait between 30 and 60 minutes before you brush your teeth after a meal or snack — this will allow your mouth to return to a normal pH and prevent damage to your enamel.
