NSW commenced adding fluoride into our drinking water in Yass, 1956 and Sydney in 1968, and by the late 1970s, approximately 90% of NSW was fluoridated. Fluoridation continues to be the safest and ethical way to help reduce tooth decay.

𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸?
When fluoride makes contact with the teeth, it helps to both reduce demineralisation and enhance remineralisation. Therefore it’s making teeth more resistant to decay, and also assists in repairing the early reversible stage of decay.

Some common causes of tooth sensitivity are

👉 Brushing too hard
👉 Grinding and clenching
👉 Tooth decay
👉 Chipped or broken teeth

There are simple ways to prevent sensitivity like

👉 Regular brushing and flossing
👉 Use a soft toothbrush
👉 Attend preventative care appointments
👉 Use sensitive toothpaste if advised by your dental professional

It's good to mention at your appointment if at anytime you do experience sensitivity. We will assess and provide the best care to prevent & check there are no underlying issues.
