Hayden attended North Shore Smiles for an evaluation and examination regarding his smile. His main concerns were the spaces between his front teeth and chipping along the edges of his teeth.

Teeth grinding and clenching, also known as bruxism, often happen during sleep. Because of this, many people are not aware of it until they notice related signs.

Common signs can include a tired or tight jaw in the morning, headaches around the temples, and teeth that appear worn, flattened or chipped. Stress, sleep patterns and the way the teeth meet can all be contributing factors.

A recent patient presented with an anterior open bite affecting chewing function, along with crowding of the teeth. Treatment involved twelve months of Invisalign clear aligner therapy to address the bite discrepancy and resolve the crowding. W-wires were used during active treatment, followed by removable clear nighttime retainers to help maintain tooth position afterwards. Treatment duration and outcomes vary depending on individual case complexity and are determined following an assessment.
